how long does it take to get to Magic Kingdom from Art of animation if we drive and if we take the bus?

I'm trying to decide if I should book a breakfast at 8am at MK but Im not sure what time we have to leave the hotel and if it would be easier to drive or take the bus

thanks!

Because all parking for MK is at TTC, any time savings from driving is lost to the tram and monorail/ferry to MK. In this special case, the bus is almost always easier.

That being said, travel time (AoA to MK) would be as follows:

Bus 30-40 minutes (10-20 mins wait time and 20 mins travel)

Car 50-55 minutes (20 mins drive, 10-15 mins parking/tram, and 20 mins monorail or ferry)

We've done both (drive and bus) to MK early in the morning and found the travel time to be the same. In the early morning, you get to park right up close to the TTC so there is no need to wait for the tram. I recommend the OP use whichever mode of transportation they prefer for this situation.

thank you!

booked the breakfast for 8am, park is scheduled to open at 9. Now I hope they don't change the park opening time :)

When we stayed at AOA this past April, the bus system was excellent! We consistently saw MK buses as early 7:00 on a non AM EMH day.

We just stayed at AoA last week and took early buses to MK, including for breakfast with no problem. Depending on when you are there, the wait and line for the bus will differ. But a relatively non-busy time, you should be able to get on the first bus that arrives when you get in the line. And the actual drive time from it pulling away to pulling in and opening it's doors is almost exactly 15 mins. Then there's the walk to whichever restaurant you are heading to.
As an aside, one of our favorite things to do is on the day we want to go to MK, we book an early Chef Mickey breakfast at the Contemporary, drive over and park in their lot, because we have a reservation, eat and then take the monorail over to MK. Super easy and easier than the bus or parking in the Transportation Hub lot.

Unfortunately, this is against policy and you risk having your vehicle towed. Resort parking is not allowed for park access. You are welcome to park for a couple of hours while you eat/shop, but unless you are a guest at CR, that's it. Granted that at times, enforcement may be lax, but most of the time at CR, they really stay on top of the parking situation.
