We are not staying at this resort but I would love to take my son there to show him Radiator Springs (Cars) area. I think he would get a kick out of seeing the big cars. Is it ok to tour the other resorts if you are not staying there? Could we take a bus there? This may seem silly, I just want to make sure its ok? Thanks so much!!!

You can absolutely visit other resorts. As a PP said, no use of the pools allowed. You can eat in the food court if you like though. As far as transportation, I think you can get there from any of the parks, just not from your resort. Resorts don't run buses to each other, but they all have buses to each of the parks. So bring your son and have a great time!

Thanks!!! I just wanted to make sure it was ok. I figured it was fine, since there are all sorts of restaurants at each of the resorts that people go too that dont necessarily stay there. I just want to get some pics of him with the cars. I just think he will love that!!

There is a term for it. It's called Resort Hopping. And we do it every trip. It is great to check out other resorts and it gives you a good idea if its somewhere you'd like to stay at in the future. When I have a car with me I just pull up to the gate and tell the guard we're "resort hopping" to check out some possible future places to stay and they always let me in.

If you are relying on Disney transportation we find Downtown Disney a great hub to switch from one resort bus to another. And we typically stay and shop before switching to the next bus.

It's absolutely fine! as mentioned, the only thing you cannot do is use the pools. This is especially so at AOA as the pools are fenced in and require a key card to enter.

Be cautious using DTD as a bus hub if you are not intending to visit DTD. The buses take the long way around and will make multiple stops, especially if Typhoon Lagoon is still open. If you need to be somewhere make sure you give yourself plenty of time if you are using DTD to transfer.
