Ok, I think i have gone officially nuts trying to plan the perfect Disney vacation for kids. It's there first and my second. First was 1977. I am seriously debating staying at the AOA (suite) vs the Poly. Honestly, I am not sure what to do. I know mom & dad what to stay at the Poly since its on the monorail and has everything that we are looking for in a resort. On the other, the kids love the AOA theme of course. Biggest concern with AOA is the transportation. Poly definitely wins there. Tomorrow's RO offer might have a play in our decision. What do you guys think?

Thanks,
-BC

IMO, I would do poly. It's right on the monorail and a deluxe hotel. However, I know they're planing on construction so you might want to find out about that first.

I have stayed at AoA and really liked it. I didn't think the buses took that long. However if you can afford one of the deluxe resorts like Poly then I would do that over a value any day.

Polynesian. its your decision but my kid is only 4 and he would rather be at the Polynesian. if you want to see it, visit aoa. that would be fun but i think the excitement would wear off and what you want is a great resort.

to be fair i have never stayed at aoa. the Polynesian is magical though and i think its perfect for kids.

I vote for the Polynesian also. With kids it is so much easier to get to the parks. Also we have found the Poly to be much more relaxing when we have been with the kids. As I look back now our trips where we went to moderates or values were far more harried than when we were at the Poly. I think the resort itself is just more calming and you are not stuck standing in line and eating in a noisy food court.

If budget is not a concern it should be Polynesian. You'll be happier and your kids will love it.

I loved AoA, but if the Poly was anywhere near my budget, I'd stay there at least once.

If it is within your budget, I would pick Poly for sure! It's on the monorail, you can watch the fireworks and the water parade from the beach, etc.

Thanks for the input. Well it looks like I had to split my stay in order to get the RO discount. 4 nights @ Poly and 4 nights @ AOA Suites. I looks like everyone should be happy.

Thanks again!

That is a good compromise.

I would suggest to end your vacation at the Poly:)

I would have like too, but the or discount gods wouldn't let me ;)

I am hopeful that the other days will become available later once the dust settles. If not, I am still going to Disney World!

I understand that everyone likes the perks at a deluxe like the Poly, but don't underestimate the value of space that you will enjoy with the TWO ROOMS (bedroom and living area) that a family suite offers at AOA. I didn't see if/where you state the ages of your kids, but having two bathrooms and sleeping in a separate room from your kids, IMO, is FABULOUS.

I would love to hear an analysis of each experience when you return!
