AoA or PO

We will be traveling to WDW next year with our 6 yr old, 9 yr old, and my parents (in their 60's.) I have read up on all the resorts and have narrowed it down to AoA or one of the PO resorts. I think the kids would love the themes in AoA, rather than the traditional decor in PO, but since we would be booking 2 standard rooms and not a family suite in AoA, we would be in the Little Mermaid section and I am concerned about all the walking on tired little legs! :) POFQ sounds great as far as proximity to bus stop, etc... but I know my kids will want to swim in the pool, and it sounds like the pool at FQ is not a great one. Any thoughts on which of the three you would choose in our situation? Thanks!!

POFQ has a nice pool area with the serpent slide which is good for younger kids. POFQ is currently putting in a big water play area which should be done soon. Guess it depends on their expectations but at AoA they will have no slides. By staying at a PO resort you can also go swim at any PO pools so access to two main pools both with slides.

LM rooms can be a long walk depending on which room you get. And yes their pools (minus the slide/hot tub) can outshine many of the other pools for the decorative theme. I think it depends on how much time you are really spending at the pools.

Also at the moderates you will get queen beds and much nicer rooms.

The pool in POFQ is much better than the one in Art of Animation. But it still is rather small and gets crowded rather easily. The main pool at PO is also really nice, its very big and is themed quite nicely.

AoA might be a far walk if you stay in the Little Mermaid section. Not quite as far of a walk as some of the buildings in PO but still it might be hard for the kids.

We have stayed in both AoA and POFQ. Honestly as I have previously written we will never stay at AoA again. The resort was neat and had great theming. From the main building to the Ariel room it was a 7 min and 20 second walk. ( we timed it one day just to see) not bad but if you want to go get a drink it will easily take you 20-25 to do so. POFQ is very small and has a Mardi Gras theme which my kids loved and had a slide at the pool. We loved it because after coming back from the craziness of the parks it was nice to unwind and had a relaxing feel. Lots of shade and greenery. Everything is close by you could be to the food court and back to your room in 10 min easily. Highly recommend FQ :)
