we're going to wdw in February. I wanted to get opinions on AOA resort and buses. I see a lot about pop but my husband likes the rooms at AOA from what pictures we have looked at online. I'm just trying to figure out what would be best for us. We will also have our ds with us.

We loved the Little Mermaid rooms, however the biggest complaint is that these rooms are all in the buildings farthest away from the lobby/foodcourt/bus stop. I would say it is a ten minute walk but a very pleasant walk! There are no LM rooms in buildings closer, the closer buildings are all the family suites. We thought the buses were quite efficient but we did rope drop so were at the bus stop early. The food court was very nice, the theming of the resort is great. Note that Disney does not discount the price of these rooms, at least they didn't use to. We booked our room through Orbitz as their discounts do apply to these rooms.

Thanks! I think we're gonna go with the little mermaid room. We don't mind walking especially when it comes to sight seeing lol. When you did the rope drop how early did you get to the bus stop? I definitely want to do the rope drop for MK! :)

LM rooms are quite nice....we love AoA resort. The attention to detail is amazing! You guys will love the main pool. Sure the walk to the main building might be far BUT its a lovely scenic walk. Along the way you'll see Lion King characters. Its quite nice.

For rope drop and the pre-RD-show, assuming the park opens at 9am, i'd leave the resort around 8am-815am.

I love AoA-LM rooms!!! Yes, they are further removed from the bus stops and main bldg. But, it's just not a huge deal. Under 10 min walk...more like 6 or 7, if that.
The buses are actually very good. Pretty much the same as the Pop buses. You could always hop on a Pop bus if one comes along and then just walk over to AoA from there.

I'm so glad to hear this! I think we'll really enjoy it :) we love lion king so I know my ds will definitely enjoy that!

While I did not stay in the LM rooms, I was in the Nemo suite - I absolutely loved the resort! AoA is incredible. My friends and I never had any trouble with the busses - always got one within 10-15 mins (sometimes less time) Even though the LM is farthest from the main area - honestly its not so bad - and you have beautiful things to look at on your walk! :goodvibes Enjoy!

We're so excited!! We can't wait for our vacation! We're first timers too!

New bee here quick question. What does rope drop mean. I am sure this is a silly question lol

My wife and I are staying in a Mermaid room during our December trip. I agree a 10 minute walk isn't that bad (especially for this old man :P). I've heard the buses aren't bad either..........the only thing I've consistently heard is the walls are paper-thin so you tend to hear alot...........the way we've been told to combat that issue is request a room on the upper most floor........which is ok for us because we only bring 2 suitcases :upsidedow

Keep looking in this group.........I'm sure I'll have more to say when we return on December 7th 8-)

I'll for sure be checking back! I don't think we can do an upper floor room bc we'll have a stroller with us.

In the morning before the park opens, there is a rope going across the entrance. Once the park opens, the rope drops to let people in. So being there in line when the park opens is considered being there for rope drop.

Thanks thats what I thought.
