We just booked a Cars Family Suite for our upcoming Dec. Trip this year. It will be my husband and I, my parents, our 5 year old and 8 month old boys. I know my oldest boy will love theme but Im concerned with one set if adults sleeping on a pullout bed. Does anyone have any experience with the resort and what are your thoughts? Thanks!!!

I've never stayed at this resort but as I mentioned on another thread, if I was the Grandparents I would want my own room.
That way all the adults would have an actual bed and the Grandparents would have a place to get away to for a break.

So you could get a Suite for your family and a Little Mermaid room for the Grandparents.

I think you might be better off with two rooms at POP. More bed options that way. Unless you really feel like you need the kitchenette. I think two adults on anything other than a "real" bed would be tough.

Hey Ive stayed here twice, slept on all 3 beds. The main bedroom is obvi the most comfy, but the Murphy bed is actually just as comfortable, just smaller than the bedroom bed. I wouldn't be concerned about sleeping there at all. The pullout bed is fantastic as far as pullout beds go (they have full support underneath, so no bar in your back) but its still a pullout bed, not as supportive as the other 2 beds. Fine for the 5 yr old I would say. It can totally be done with your group.

Either:
1- you guys go in master bedroom with 2 Pack n Plays for the boys and 5 yr old on pullout and grandparents on Murphy bed (the PnPs are small, not the full size ones, so I don't think they are likely to share even at 8mo, but maybe! It cant hurt to request 2 though, and just dont use one of they sleep together OK)
or
2- grandparents in master, you on murphy bed, 5yr old on pullout with the PnPs in the living room (not nearly as much space this way as with the PnPs in the master though. The master has a lot of open space, the living room not so much.

Enjoy!

I would only do it if this is how you plan on sleeping. Only seems fair to give the grandparents some space of their own, away from all the family hubub.

So the question I think you need to answer is, how would you handle sleeping on a pull out?

Is the pullout sofa big enough for 2 adults. I was planning on the grandparents sleeping in master with pack and play in there for 8 month old and then 5 year old on table bed. Or would it be bettet to get 2 rooms at say POR???

Honestly? With the people you have in your family, I would get 2 rooms. Two rooms at a value would be fine, but if you can afford a moderate, that would be even nicer!

We stayed in the cars suite. There were only 3 of us but I could easily see it fitting your family. The sofa bed is actually really comfy. (My husband pulled it out in a moment of curiosity). We actually slept in it one night because we are thinking about taking grandparents next trip and were wondering if it would be comfy. My husband is a big guy and was comfy on the sofa bed.

The theming of the whole resort is incredible! I am sure you have seen lots of photos already but if you want to see more check out my trip report (link bellow).

I am trying to decide myself on two rooms connected, which we done in 2011 or suite at AOA for all 6 of us,(me, hubby, Daughter, Son inlaw, GS, GD). I would love to take them all to AOA but I can't afford Suite and a room at AOA. Connecting rooms would provide more privacy, two fridg but it would be nice to have a suite for the granchilden and have a microwave, living area space for them to play. The downside for me is not about privacy or having the grandchildren. They would stay in our room anyways! LOL! (Which we love) But my husband and I not having a bed and having to make one every night & morning. For instance when you come back from the parks my husband usually will come into our room, take off his shoes, turn on the TV and lay down for awhile. I guess he could lay in the floor! LOL! :lmao:

Where does everyone sit in the living room? In those little chairs at the table? I know they have one chair! Seems like you need some bean bags or something thrown in the floor! LOL! I wonder why they didn't put a big comfy chair in the AOA suites like they did in Music suites? The bedroom at Music looks as though it has a comfy chair, too!

Just wondering and sharing my thoughts! LOL!

If it helps, when we left the fold out couch out it was folded back up when we got to the room. I am sure they would do the same for the table bed unless you request otherwise, but not sure

A suite could definitely sleep 6 if you really like the theming. It is pretty easy to pull down the table bed and out the couch bed.

It does sound pretty easy! I guess I am comparing the beds to my camper when I have to use the table and sofa as beds. My table makes a bed but you have to let down the table and arrange all the cushions, then put on sheets, blankets & pillows. The sofa has to be let out, mattress blown up, then put on the sheets etc., . Then the next morning take off all the bedding, put somewhere out of the way, Let the table back up, refix the cushions around the table, let the air out of the sofa bed, let the sofa bed back up. Then do it all over again that night. LOL!

Housekeeping makes up all the beds in the morning when they clean your room, even fold outs and the like!:)

Yeah both the Murphy bed and pullout couch are big enough for 2 people, they are both full size beds. I weigh 200lb and my DH is closer to 300lb and we have slept together on each of those beds. Honestly, the Murphy bed is more comfortable. Stick the 5yr old on the couch.
