Anywhere with a King bed plus a bed for a child?

We are two adults and one child, age 9. We'd really like a King bed, and a seperate bed for our son, but I'm starting to think such a room does not exist at Disney, unless you pay for a suite or DVC accomodation.

Is that right??

In the Contemporary they have rooms where there is a King bed and an extra bed/chair or couch that turns into a bed. It's not classified a suite but it's not a regular room. Sorry I don't know the exact name of it.

I think the problem is that Disney classifies King bed rooms as holding a MAXIMUM of 2 people. They will not let you book a king room with 3 people on your reservation, unless you choose a suite.

There is a room type in the garden wing of the Contemporary. It is not too expensive, and it has a king bed and a day bed in it. It will accommodate 3. It is classified as "Garden Wing, King". It is $320, $380, $420, $480/night in Value, Regular, Peak, and Holiday seasons, respectively. It's the best value if that is the room type you are looking for.

Otherwise, the 1 bedroom DVC units have what you want, but not the studios (those have a queen bed).

All the "1 bedroom suites" at WDW are one king bed and either a daybed or pull out sleeper sofa in the sitting area as well, and include concierge service, but the prices start around $500+ per night.

brergnat, You are correct. I wanted to get a king with a rollaway, but Disney does not allow that with 2 adults and a kid. We had to make the reservation for two people, not three.

Edit: I should have added that this was for reservation at Coronado and POP that I was looking into.

There are deluxe club level rooms at the Beach Club that have a king bed, a day bed and a separate sitting area with a sofa-bed.

You can get a king bed with a day bed at the AKL. Ours is club level but I don't know that all of them are.

 So, what did you do with the third person?
