Hi guys

I know a lot of you will probably think I'm sad because of the question I'm about to ask  but me and dh are big fans of Liverpool FC. Imagine my surprise and delight last night when we got through to the Champions League final! We will be in the happiest place in the World on the day of the final. Does anyone know of a sports bar or similar where we might be able to watch the final? I know this might be a long shot as soccer isn't the biggest of sports in the states, but any possibilities gratefully received. If not, my mum will be busy texting us!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi there AJ. You shouldn't have any trouble watching the game here. ESPN2 have been showing live Champions League games all season and showed last night's game in full, and immediately announced they will be showing the final, too. It will be screened from 2.30pm local time, and will certainly be on at all the big British pubs in town. The Cricketers is the biggest and best-known, but be aware many places charge an entry fee for live soccer, and places like the Cricketers fill up quickly. Also on I-Drive (near Magical Midway) is the new George and Dragon pub, which also shows soccer; plus there are a host of Uk derivatives on Highway 192 in Kissimmee. Of course, the ESPN Club at Disney's Boardwalk will be showing things live, and there is no cover charge to go in (although the beers are more expensive - just like the Cricketers!). Failing that, the Orlando Ale House chain around Orlando is arguably the best sports bar in town, and I'm sure they will have some TVs tuned to ESPN2 on a Wednesday afternoon, while Friday's Front Row Sports Bar & Grill on I-Drive will probably have some of their many TVs devoted to it, too. So, you will not be short of choice. If you're in the ESPN Club, I will probably see you there! :teeth:

Thanks very much for this, Simon, looks like I was wrong about it being difficult to find somewhere showing the game!! I am so pleased that we will get to see it, and know my hubby will be too.

The ESPN club will probably be the easiest for us to get to, so hope to see you in there! I will be the over-excited redhead jumping up and down!! :bounce:

I'll be in one of them with the red shirt on.

Let's me know with one you Guys and Gals are going to be in and I'll see you there!

We found ourselves in the ESPN bar yesterday afternoon, after a round of golf, and they were showing the Chelsea/Liverpool game, so, as Simon says, I am sure they will have it on in there. The match yesterday was even on the main screen in the bar. Luckily enough for me, not being a football fan, I was able to get a basketball game put on the screen next to the football so I was happy.

Also, would recommend the Orlando Ale House, we visited there on Sunday, whilst dw went round Florida Mall - nice beer and very good wings. I particularily liked the Icehouse beer, which was $1.75 a pint!! :drinking1 :drinking1 Again, tons of screens, so you're bound to be able to get it put on one.

Come on you reds, would love to watch the game in Orlando - think Harry Ramsbottom's on the 192, near Wild Bills also show Live games, but would recommend Front Row.

Me? I will watching the game Live from Istanbul!!

if you are staying onsite they will be showing it at the ESPN sports bar next to the broardwalk wathed unted win there great atmosphere

We are staying at the Holiday Inn International drive and they are showing the F.A. Cup final. I guess they will have the Champions League Final. At least this will be at a better time than the 10.00 a.m. kick off the the Cup Final is on.

Good luck

Why, thank you! Wait...you're not talking about my wings are you? :teeth:

ESPN is a cool place to watch sports, although I have to say that the Orlando (Millers) Ale House would probably be my preference (plenty of locations in the area). Their Zingers (wings without the bones - I can't be doing with bones) are great. Just don't go for the Mt St Helens unless you have a very stout constitution!

In "plain english" please, cause i'm not quite use to all abbreviations, where could you watch it onsite. We are staying at CBR and only land mid-afternoon that day. Husband might not be too desperate to see it (UNITED FAN!!) :cheer2:

 There are 32 of us on a golf trip in Spain.
8 of us are LFC season ticket holders so will be leaving a day early (would have left early morning from Malaga but the lads won't want to take a chance on an Easyjet flight cancellation) So eventually we will end up in Istanbul. Have priced flights from Malaga and they work out so expensive so we will just cut short our holiday by 1 day (Easyjet return flights are still the same price) so we can then pick up our plane from Speke to Istanbul.

Can't wait

Thanks to everyone for their replies, and it is very cheering to see that there are fellow Liverpool supporters on the DIS.

JohnnySharp2 & peewakio - hope you guys have the best time at the match in Istanbul!! :cool1:

Spoke to my hubby last night and we have settled on the ESPN Club at Disney's Boardwalk as the easiest place for us to watch the match. :cheer2:

Now I just have to be patient and wait for it to come round!

Thanks again to all for your help.

Make sure beforehand that they will have it on.

The only place I know where it should definetely be on is the Cricketers in the Mercado I Drive, he's a red hot Chelsea fan so you best check there beforehand as well. :cool1: :cheer2:

Stevie G and the old pre kick off huddle :grouphug:

Thanks for this, peewakio, will do - we'll be in Florida for a few days before the match, so it shouldn't be too difficult for us to find out beforehand.

Loved the pre kick off huddle - made me laugh!!

Andrea, the ESPN Sports Club is at Disney's Boardwalk Resort (close to Epcot) and will be the only place onsite likely to be showing it (unless you can persuade one of the hotel bars to tune their TVs to the channel ESPN2; that is always possible as it is unlikely to be busy in the afternoon). Disney actually own the ESPN network, hence ESPN2 is likely to be on in their resorts, too. However, if you are arriving mid-afternoon, I seriously doubt if you you will be able to get anywhere near Disney before the game is over (which will be about 5pm, unless it goes to extra-time). In my experience, if you arrive at Orlando International around 3pm, it takes a good two hours to get to your resort by the time you have gone through immigration, collected your car, negotiated traffic, etc. And, if you are flying in to Sanford, it takes that much longer driving time, even if it is usually quicker to get through the airport. You may be better off, if you really want to see the game, getting through immigration and then heading straight to McCoy's (upstairs at the Hyatt Hotel end of the terminal; above where the international flight passengers arrive in the main terminal) and asking if they can get ESPN2. There is also a new Fox Sports Bar at the airport, but they may not be minded to show a rival channel!
