There is supposed to be a rocket launch at 6:50 PM today. We were at Kennedy Center Monday for the launch but it was scrubbed, rescheduled for tonight, hopefully. We will be at AK tonight and would like to know if there’s anywhere we can go to see the skies toward Cape Canaveral. We have a FOP FP+ and Tiffins dining package just prior so we can’t leave the AK area.

TIA!

Perhaps on the bridge over the the waterway between EE and Finding Nemo The Musical?

Not sure you can see it from WDW. Try a google search for launch visibility of Cape Canaveral.

Just look towards the East you will see the light and then the flume of smoke. One of my favorite experiences was watching one of the last shuttle launches from outside Mission Space, they had Buzz Lightyear riding on the shuttle that time and it was pretty cool
For the best unobstructed view I would say the parking lot

We saw a rocket go up from the Magnolia golf course. It's nothing like being there in person, but at least it was something. :)

All you need to do is find a location with a clear view of the eastern horizon. The closer to the horizon you can see, the quicker you will see the rocket. If it is very clear you should be able to see it through first stage burn.

Thank you! We ended up going out to the walkway en route to the bus stops which had a good view east and saw the launch- very cool! FOP was down most of the day so our FP is now an anytime one through park close tomorrow so we will hopefully get to ride it. Tomorrow is our last day at the parks- was so lucky to get the FP at 4am Pacific for 60+6. Will be bummed if we miss it.

@jina - Was it determined there was a fire in FoP today? Did you notice if NRJ was also shut down as a precaution?

That info had been tweeted out but you are the first to report the closure here.

I live 5 minutes behind MK and can see all the launches as long as the weather is good.I was home and saw the launch, weather was perfect so it was very visible. There was another launch last week but it was pretty cloudy, for that one I could not see anything.

@hiroMYhero - I heard 2 cast members chuckling about FOP being “a mess” and that they’d “have to get out the blue prints for this one” but when I then asked them whether they thought FOP would be open today (Thurs) they said they thought so. They were embarrassed that I overheard them. Yes, Navi was also down at the same time. They both came back a little before 8pm but the FP line was so long we opted to try for today as we had ROL to get to- we are going to try to rope drop Navi first then use our FOP FP from last night- we have another FP for today (60+7) so hopefully we get to ride it twice today before we head home.
