Anywhere in WDW with free wifi???

Can I find free wifi anywhere????

some of the deluxe resorts have it in their lobby, but nothing in the parks or downtown disney

I find it ridiculous that we can't get free wi fi in the parks or resorts--just my opinion. Really--how much does it really cost them? It feels like they nickel and dime you sometimes. I am one who won't ever stay off property (again)! but sometimes it just seems Disney is so petty w/their charges!

+1. Some here will say many high-end hotels don't do it either which is actually true....but it would certainly be a nice delighter for customers...I liken it to them allowing you to bring water/food into the parks. That is HUGE and something very rare with amusement parks. This would be equally nice as an "extra".

It would cost them a lot. Providing and maintaining a commercial wi-fi network for thousands of concurrent users over a large geographical area like a theme park is in no way related to the kind of internet access you have in your home, or even in a small facility like a Starbucks.

Even in their resort hotels, it's costly. Disney, like most hotel operators, pays an outside company to set up and maintain the networks in their resorts. There's no business justification for them eating that cost.

As more consumers move to devices like smartphones, netbooks and tablets with data access through cellular networks, there's even less justification for them to provide internet access.

Someday, Disney may stop charging for internet access in their resorts. But that will just mean they've increased the room rate to cover their costs, and then we'll all pay for it, whether we want it or not. That's what the hotels that offer 'free' internet access do...add a few bucks to the room rate, and hey, 'free' internet.

The only "free" internet service at Disney that I've found is if you are a DVC member staying at a DVC resort. And it's not wifi-have to use a cable, which they provide.

I just got back from the Disneyland Hotel. They have free wi-fi at the hotels but it was slow except for early morning. On the other hand, they charge $15 per day for parking at the hotel.

Things like that are the furthest from my mind when I'm down there. There's enough to occupy my mind down there.

I was just there a few weeks ago also at the DLH and their wifi service was included and it worked great for me. I wish WDW would get on the same bandwagon also. Thank goodness for smart phones!

Sorry there is no bandwagon to get on.

The Disneyland resorts are in a completely different market than the ones in WDW.

At DLR some "off site" resorts are closer to the gates than their "on site" resorts. If those off site resorts have "free" wi fi", the DL resorts have to to stay competitive.

At WDW the on site resorts don't compete the same way with the off site properties. Their competitive edge is free transportation, super themed resorts, etc.

Again there is no such thing as free wi fi, someone has to pay for it and at a place as large as WDW, its a huge expensive undertaking.

I will be using internet on my holiday to WDW to use email to keep in touch with parents n boyfriend at home, im from the UK so charges on mobiles to text and call are crazy!! with email/facebook etc i can let all my friends and family know how were doing without breaking the bank

The McD's at DTD closed a year or so ago and the one on property near AK doesn't have it.

Some say ESPN WoS has it.

There is no McDonald's at DTD anymore. It closed over a year go I believe.

We parked at McDonalds on the 535 near Hotel Plaza Blvd and used the WiFi there one morning. I don't know if the McDonalds inside WDW has it though.

The one over near All Stars has it, but you need to make a purchase to get the passcode.
