Yes I know I'm probably deluding myself, but I would just love to go to WDW for a week at Christmas. If I could find any reasonably priced flights I may just be able to wangle it.

The cheapest I've found so far is BA which is coming up at £1000 for one adult and one child.
If anyone has found anything cheaper could you please point me in the right direction?

Thanks so much!:goodvibes

What dates you looking for?
We can only travel Xmas day or Boxing day every year, again this year the only option for us was a Virgin package, for some crazy reason same as last time a package works out way cheaper than a flight only. Virgin atlantic wanted £900 each and never dropped below that before selling out our dates. I booked Flight/hotel package with Virgin holidays for £580 each. There were even lower prices at cheaper hotels. Unfortunatley they all sold in no time.
If you can go earlier in Dec then the prices are a lot lower but to go Xmas thru New Year like us it has got v expensive.

Sorry cant help, just wanted to say hi to a fellow wiganer :)
Hey!!! we are even closer than that, I live in Ashton :thumbsup2

Hi Wayneg! Well I'm like you can only go in school hols as I'm a teacher. Would have love to have gone christmas eve and come back new years day, but as long as its at some point in the school holidays I don't mind too much. Hadn't thought about actually travelling on xmas day, if it works out a lot cheaper, I can always pretend that boxing day is xmas day :lmao:
Will check out the Virgin site again and play around with the dates

:thanks:

Have a look but I will be suprised if there is anything so late, we booked 13th Dec 07 to get a resonable price, ever since they have been expensive or not available.

Wow that early! hmm probably won't find anything now then

Oh well unless anyone has any other cheap flights they know of, it may have to be put off until next year

Thanks anyway Wayne

We go very other year and book in the January for the following Christmas. It must be done 11 months ou,t or you either won't get the flights you want or won't get the prices.

I paid less than £1000 for 2 adults and one child. Have to do a fly/drive with Virgin to get the best price, but don't bother with the car, as I like a 4x4 and the upgrade price is far more expensive than booking with uscarhire.co.uk
xx

we have just booked for 30th Dec with Continental and got it for £360 each. last year we flew on Christmas Day with Continental and paid £425 each, which we booked in March 07 to get that.

We have been tracking the prices for some time weighing them up and they don't seem to drop lower than £360, and the date that we booked for this year has now gone up by £60 odd, but there are quite a few Christmassy dates available at the £360 price.

What return date though? many prices are good if you return after 3rd Jan. To return 2nd or 3rd Jan usually doubles the cost.

yeah it does seem like the return date has a big effect, just checked out Continental and it was coming up at almost £800 each for the dates I wanted, so it still works out that BA is the cheapest.
Its a pity I can't go early or come back late,,, argggh flaming school holidays!!!!
I think I'm just going to have to hold on and start looking in Jan for next year. Oh well at least I'm going in August :)

I can't find anything for August yet. We want 6th-31st £880 with Virgin, £662 indirect with Continental. Looking 10-15 times a day.

Have you looked at Europe change overs? I only ask because we live in Germany and got flights with Air Berlin departing Dusseldorf on Dec 21st into Miami for a really good price...it cost €1585 for the flights for 2 adults and one child. Our return date is January 8th but I don't know if you can play about a bit with dates etc? I'm pretty sure that Ryan Air do very cheap flights from the UK into Dusseldorf Weeze airport, then you could get over to the main one...
I suppose it depends how much messing round you feel like doing.

We weren't coming back until the 15th Jan. it does seem that he return dat plays a big part in it though.

It makes a massive diff. If you want to return for start of school term 5th Jan or start of new term in Sept then you pay approx double what you pay retuning after these dates. Only thing to do is keep watching for offers or price errors(there have been a few in recent years) but its not easy.

just an idea, but have you looked at airlines that fly into sanford orlando rather than mco?

i know Monarch fly there, might work out cheaper than BA or VA, especially near xmas time!
