Anything Worth Requesting at DVC Boulder Ridge/Copper Creek?

Hey all,

Planning on renting points to split stay at Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek Villas at Wilderness Lodge on an upcoming trip (we are planning to stay in the regular studio rooms).

I’ve just a few questions for those with experience staying at one or both of them. Firstly, is there anything worth while to request in terms of the room location at each of these? I would probably just default to “as close to the lobby as possible” for both of them... but I’m wondering if there’s some rhyme or reason to request anything particular at these two places? Views? Conveniences or amenities?? Etc.

Also, just wondering if one or the other is particularly “better” or “more impressive” or “more desired” for any reason or another? Mostly asking as I’d like to end our trip with the better of the two...

Thanks for any advice or assistance that can be provided! :)

I just spent time posting on your "I'm going to do a split stay between Jambo House and Kidani Village" thread. If you're definitely planning on booking Wilderness Lodge rather than Animal Kingdom Lodge, maybe post in that thread asking the Mods to close the thread so people don't spend time trying to help you for a stay you are no longer planning.

When we did CC we got a first floor studio that faced the pool... It was nice because we walked halfway down the hall and right outside to the pool, geyser point bar and grill, and boat to MK. I will admit it took a little getting use to with a little trail and error getting to and from the lobby.... :rotfl2: BR on the other hand the farther down the halls your room is the longer it is to get out. I would go further down the hall for a view facing the lake then closer and facing the lot. Since they built the cabins they cleared all the trees and now the its a great view of the cabins and the lake. Higher you are the better the view...

So you are staying both at CC and BRV? They are two different resorts. Kidani and Jambo are one resort, two buildings. BRV has beds for five in the studio, CC is a hard four for the studio (no murphy bed).

BRV isn't that big, so requesting close to the lobby means you take an elevator from your floor (one elevator bank). CCV isn't that big either.

No, we still plan to! We are hoping to do 4 resort hops, actually... insane I know! First two mini-splits at the two AKL properties, followed by two more mini-splits between Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek. Just to kind of dip our feet in a few different things and tick off some bucket list check boxes.

Hmm... interesting! It seems like there’s not exactly any “terrible” places to be situated then at either of then? I guess then would you personally request anything you’ve mentioned if you were to go again (low floor near the pool, higher floor, closer to the lobby, etc.)?

As mentioned above, we plan to try and score a split stay at all four. Bed arrangements shouldn't be an issue as we will probably only have 4 of us going, at most. In terms of BRV and CCV, is there any place you would request to stay for any reason if you were to be staying at either?

Basically I’m trying to collect request recommendations to fill in the “special requests” field when I submit the booking request when our time comes. We won’t be heartbroken if we don’t get a specific thing, I’m sure... I just would like to have SOMETHING written, just in case we are able to sweeten the experience even further with a nice view or great location. You know...

Studios at BRV have the chance of getting the dumpster view and noise. Plus there is one studio at BRV that doesn't have a balcony. It's toward the center of the building and the shape of the building doesn't make a balcony possible.

We have stayed in a couple different CCV studios. We liked not being close to the lobby, as both times we experienced this we were closer to the pool and geyser point which is where we spent most of our time outside the room.

Would love to know how it was a great help.
Have you completed your many stays? Maybe pass on advice cause I have stopped the requesting And just accept whatever. Basically feel like it is a waste of time .

What are you talking about??? The OP was thanking for the input we all gave excluding your post.

I wasn’t criticizing I sincerely would like to know because it never seems to work for me to request a particular location.

Your comment that I need to seek help feels very harsh .

At Copper Creek we booked a studio with walk-in shower. My husband really likes the bigger shower with no tub. We also requested 2nd floor which is the lobby level, very easy to get to our room.

Thanks for your tips everyone... ‘twas a great help!

stayed in an absolutely huge alternative layout studio at cooper creek right now. 6th floor perfect view and its own living room. the number was 6115. requested it and got it most times . Think they run from 2nd floor upward with 2 on each floor.

To have a shot at an alternate studio at CCV, make sure you book a "studio" as opposed to a "studio with a walk-in shower". Note that if you don't get the request, you'll be on the ground floor.

The no-balcony room is 4533.

I have forgotten what requests I put in, but hopefully someone can help. At BRV, I enjoy the side facing the lake (beautiful views). At CCV, I enjoy the side facing BRV and the BRV pool. Also you don't want the top floor of either resort (or is it just CCV???). The balconies are enclosed, and when sitting, you can't see over the enclosure.

For Copper Creek, where you request matters depending on the type of the room you book. Especially in the studio category. If you want a first floor, book the regular studio category with a tub. If you do not want a first floor book the walk in shower category. There are 4 amazing rooms in the Deluxe Studio category that end in '15.. they are alternative studios that are almost like a one bedroom. We have been lucky to snag them twice but.. if you can't get one you will be relegated to the first floor and we prefer to be higher so usually book the walk in shower category now to be safe.
