Despicable Me is scheduled to open in place of Jimmy Neutron in the Studios sometime this summer and Spiderman is getting a new enhanced film. It's currently closed until sometime in March.

There will be a new parade and nightly light show in the Studios starting sometime in the near future (I think after Mardi Gras is over). And...Hollywood Drive in Golf (mini golf) is set to open in CityWalk sometime this month.

I almost forgot...Jaws has been removed and will be replaced with something grand. No official announcement has been made as to what will replace it...only rumors.

Several new attractions and shows going in,here's a list.

1.Jimmy Neutron closed last year and a Despicable Me 3-D ride will be replacing it.

2.A new parade called Universal's Superstar parade with characters like the minions from Despicable Me and Spongebob is going in at Universal.

3.Universal's Cinematic Spectacular-100 Years of movie memories will be a new nighttime show with water screens and fountains going in the Universal lagoon.

4.Spider Man at Islands of Adventure will be getting a new high definition ride film.

5.At Citywalk you have two new miniature golf courses,one alien themed to the Invaders from planet putt and the other one themed to the haunting of ghostly greens.

6. Blue Man Group is getting a new show.

7. Wet n Wild is getting a new kids area

And now for the rumors area,totally unconfirmed and just a rumor at this moment.

1.Jaws closed a couple of weeks ago and the entire Amity area is basically walled off and most of the area and attraction is almost gone,there are some
hot and heavy rumors going around as to what will be going in there and most of them point to a new London Harry Potter area,supposedly it will have a Gringots bank themed coaster and guests will be able to board the Hogwarts Express all the way to the Islands of Adventure Harry Potter area.

2.Another rumored attraction for a while is a Transformers ride similar to Spider Man,when they tore down the old Hard Rock Cafe this rumor heated up but nothing else has come off it.

Like Damo said, if it has been years since your last visit, a trip to Universal is in order just to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Even if you are not a huge fan of the books/movies, it is, imo, the best themed land any theme park has ever done. The attention to detail is just insane. Not to mention the main ride that is inside the castle which is the best ride I have ever been on.

OMG!!!!!! There are rumors that the Jaws ride might be replaced with a London based WWoHP? OMG!!!! That would be sooooo awsome, especially a Gringotts-like roller coaster. Is there a thread on these boards related to HP ride rumors? So exciting!

Thanks for the link Metrowest! I missed it. Guess I was off the boards for too long. Back now and planning a fall break trip. It was so exciting in the months leading up to the opening of the WWoHP on the DISboards, I was on here 3-4times a day hoping not to miss it for our early June 2010 trip. I sure do hope it is another HP themed area going in where Jaws was, even though we will all miss the big slimey critter. Seems like it would be a smart move on the part of US though to put in an HP area in their other park. Peeps will feel like they must go to both parks that way. Verrrrry smart. Hope to hear a big announcement sometime this year.
