My son did that (barfed) too and was later diagnosed with acid reflux as well. It only happened when he'd cry really hard and was almost inconsolable. Very challenging situation, to say the least. I totally understand the bedtime issue. DS had a hard time sleeping through the night and didn't until he was about a year old. Looking back, I think it was the acid reflux that kept him up-that and he was somewhat colicky (but I've been told that was actually the reflux and not true colic-who know)
And please don't listen if people tell you holding him to go to sleep will spoil him. Everytime DS would cry, and I'd go to pick him up, my dad would tell me I was going to spoil him. Used to make me so mad. I cuddle my kids every chance I get b/c I know that day will come when they will pretend they don't even know me. I take advantage while I can. I try to look at those challenging times with an attitude like, "It's not like he'll be 16 and crying b/c he doesn't want to go to sleep." It's a big deal today, but it's not going to be like that forever. Good luck.

at that comment. I can't get my 15yo to go to sleep at a decent time at night (no, he's not up crying
), but then I can't get him to wake up in the morning. My DH is out of town and I've been doing the mornings with him and after me waking him up the first morning 3 minutes before he had to leave for school I let it be known that we're not doing that this week and what he had to do to be ready for school each day (his dad just lets him do whatever he wants so there's no hassle in the morning). Things have gone very well the last couple days. Typical teenager!
