Anyone worried about hurricanes next week?

Just caught a quick weather report into next week and they mentioned about hurricane or tropical storm brewing past Cuba and towards us next week. Of course, we leave next Wednesday morning. My husband tells me not to worry since we will be in the middle of the state, not the coast. It is just after all this planning and now the weather to worry about. We will continue on through rain, but hopefully we get a break. Our first trip was in June several years ago and it rained nonstop. Many CM commented on how it usually rains everyday that time of year, but doesn't last-real quick showers. Well, this was almost all day, everyday. Couldn't get a good castle picture due to dreary weather. Wondering if anyone else is concerned and if anyone has heard weather for next week?

We leave next Friday 7/22, yep, for sure, I am concerned. My DH and I are both originally from St Petersburg and have weathered hurricane's before, they are a concern however. You know last year they closed the parks for 2 different days (if my memory serves me correct) when hurricane's affected the Orlando area. Just watch the news and be aware, that would be my suggestion. We are hauling our travel trailer from Georgia so, worse case senerio, we'll have to leave Ft Wilderness and be put up in one of Disney's hotels. Boo-hoo!
Be safe and enjoy your trip!

We are leaving the 24th for Vero and then up to Disney on the 28th so, yeh we are a little worried too, especially about vero if one goes up the east coast!!! And our course rain all day would kinda bum us out but hey if the parks are still open , we will just grab our ponchos!!! Hopefully, no storms will not affect disney or vero during the time!!! Keeping our fingers crossed!

Arriving on Thursday, July 21. I haven't had the nerve to mention Emily to my faimly yet. We're still drying out from Dennis..........

Just because we are in the middle of the state doesnt mean doodly squat.
Hurricane Charlie last year was proof enough of that.Go to Disney come heck or high water! We are, probably better off there than here on the coast.Maybe have to spend sometime indoors BUT it is Disney and they try to make it as pleasant as possible for the time you may have to spend indoors.

It currently looks like Emily will move across the Gulf toward Texas. Of course, it is still early, but we can hope!
