Anyone work for Delta Airlines?

Just wondering what's up with Delta's financial troubles. I just bought tickets from them yesterday and today I hear they're having big problems.

Anyone? Should I be worried? I'm not flying until July.

Don't worry. If they go into bankruptcy, it's to be able to reorganize their finances, they will not stop flying. By going into bankruptcy, they can renegotiate all their contracts and bring down costs. United and USAir have been in bankruptcy for awhile and are still flying.

That's what I'm hoping. I flew US Air during bankruptcy and didn't notice a thing different. Business as usual, at least for me the flying customer.

My neighbor is a flight attendant for Delta. He told me they will likely be filing bankruptcy at the end of September. He's not too concerned right now. You're tix should be fine.

He's been flying for about 25 years now and only cares that they make it to Feb 2006 - He'll then be 55 and plans to retire. LOL

The reason Delta will file for bankruptcy within the next month is that the bankruptcy laws are going to change in Oct. The current rules are much more lenient in allowing a business in bankruptcy to continue operating.

Our old next door neighbors in texas both work for delta. They do the ramp in dallas and inside desk. They have both worked for them for years and just to keep their jobs they said they will probably have to get transferred to atlanta. They too said they expect the co. to file for bankruptcy. They too are just waiting to retire.

In seven more days, I will be phoning in at midnight for my 2 first class and 3 coach tickets. Yup, DH and I sit in first class, we will see DSs when we land in Hawaii. I actually LIKE Delta. I don't say mean, disparaging things, I liked Song. But then, I also liked Eastern too.
