Anyone with experience with Priceline car rentals?

After reading a post below I starting pricing again. We currently have a premium car for 8 days at a total of 305.90. Can I do better at Priceline? It says they are major companies, any experience with them where you didn't get a major company?

My dh is a big guy so the smaller cars are not an option, I just hope the premium is comfortable enough for him! LOL

There was a thread, I think last week, about someone getting a good deal on a car through Priceline. I have been afraid to try because when you pick MCO as your location it also includes several companies that you have to take a shuttle to. I just don't want to chance it with 2 small kids. Otherwise, I'd be doing Priceline.

Also, be sure to factor in extra driver fees. Frequently a traditional booking will allow a spouse to drive for no extra fee, but if it's a priceline reservation they might charge you. That daily fee needs to be factored in when you place your bid. I have not used priceline in many years because I've been able to get what I felt were comparable rates using codes and coupons.
You may get a rental place off site, but I've never felt taking a shuttle was that big of deal.

I have used Priceline many, many times. Don't forget to factor in their service fee. All of the companies they use are onsite at MCO, with the exception of Hertz (and they are painless...prompt shuttles, good service). The one I got most was Alamo, followed by Avis, then Hertz. I also gotten Budget and National once each.
