DH has a CPAP, the one with the humidifier. The tech who arranged the sleep study highly recommended the humidfier.
DH had to change masks several times. What's with the inexpensive masks posted above? DH is on his third model, first one he hated, second one he used, hated, and then finally broke when he kept hurling it across the room, third one is the CPAP pro that does not have the mask, just the tubes for the nostrils.
He tolerates this one better. It is much noisier though. I really don't think it controls the breathing as well as the others did.
But if it helps him be more compliant, it is worth it.
We had a problem with the sleep study, the sleep study is covered, but there is no provider in-network. Can you say catch -22? The machine however, was in network. The provider agreed to accept $700 as full payment for the study. The insurance covered 80% of the machine and the mask.
