Anyone who's had STREP THROAT. Help please.

I seem to always get strep and it takes a few days for me to start feeling better. My daughter had it in December and right now she laying up stairs with a killer sore throat so I am guessing she has it again. We will have to go to the doctors tomorrow with it.

I haven't seen it mentioned but garggling with salt water always helps for a little bit. I hate doing it because when I was young my mom would make me drink it Old Chinese tale, but it does work.

My kids always get it....and I think it does get worse before it gets better. In fact, DD10 has had a terrible sore throat since yesterday....it was beat red! No fever though and is a little better today. Hopefully it will be even better tomorrow so I can avoid a DR appt....


Hope you feel better soon!! Try gargling with warm salt water!

Yuck. To the doctor with her tomorrow too. Good luck. I think it's the time of day, too. I just took my temp again less than an hour later and it's at 102.3. That's a big jump.

I hate it when doctors do that. Then when you're not feeling "so much better" you worry if something is wrong. In my experience as a mother and a nurse, most people don't feel 100% better in 24 hrs. A lot of them have pain for several days and fever for 1-2 more days. My kids have never once been back to normal in a day. I haven't had strep throat in about 15yrs, but I remember it well--i thought someone had slashed my throat. It took me several days to feel good again. Good luck!

yep yep...had strep throat a couple months ago....soooo sick!!!! I was in the hospital and didnt start feeling better for 2 days after taking the meds!

Hang in there!!!!!!!!!

it usually takes about 48 hours for the antibiotics to kick in! Hope you feel better soon!
