If so, I have a question because something isn't adding up and I was wondering if anyone had any info to clarify things.

During the feature about the brethren court, you were able to click on each of the pieces of eight and learn about the pirate lord who owned it. Here's what I don't understand... in several of the descriptions, the narrator was saying that that particular pirate lord found his or her piece of eight, but I believe they said in the movie that the pieces of eight were passed down from pirate lord to pirate lord. Is there an explanation for this or is this a plot hole?

The piece of eight is passes down, but they don't have to keep said piece. TAke for example JAck Sparrow, I don't think he ties someone elses hair to his head. I think they found an item and that became their piece of eight. JUst my 2 cents.

Interesting!!

I haven't watched that bonus feature yet. But, in the movie of course they said the pieces of eight weren't actual "pieces of eight" bc something like the pirates were all broke at the time lol so they each chose their own item to represent the piece of eight. It was mentioned in the movie that when Capt. Jack died, he had not passed on his piece of eight to anyone, which is why they agreed to rescue him from Davy Jones' locker. When Sao Feng was dying, he DID pass his item to Elizabeth.

So, I don't really have an answer to your question yet :rotfl: I am just able to add to your confusion.

Now you've got me thinking, and I think I will go watch that part again to see....

Yes I did watch them but not that feature. The bonus feature I really loved was bringing the Maelstrom to life and those giant models was so cool to see. Wonder if that would fit in my backyard ;)

Well, I still don't have an answer :confused3 lol

It was the first brethren court that bound Calypso to human form. In the movie Sao Feng tells Elizabeth they are the 4th brethren court. The talk in the movie does make it sound as though each "piece of eight" was passed on to a successor, so it would seem that each particular piece was passed down.
However, like you said, in the bonus features it tells us where each current pirate of the court aquired their item. So, I really don't understand :rotfl: and I think you must be right, it was just an oversight somehow that I think was created for the bonus material. :confused3

Nice catch!!

Could it be that by aquired means passed down to them? because in a way when it's passed on to them they aquire it
