I know I know....

My sister told me it was on after it was already half off! I'm sorry but I can totally relate to those girls, I think it should've been renamed Robin's first weeks in Georgia or Robin Visits Her Family in Tennessee! I felt like My Favorite Martian or ET!

And I had never heard of Wal Mart before I moved here either! :p

Did anyone else see it? What did you think?

I watched the first half, but lost interest. What really put me over the edge were the shoes. They knew they were heading to a farm, but wore the most impractical shoes I have ever seen (I will withhold comment on how ugly they were). Badshoe.com has nothing on those two girls.

I usually don't spend very much time watching reality shows but with all of the hype, I figured it was worth a look. It didn't disappoint. I found it funny and it certainly confirmed one thought that I have; Money can't buy common sense or brains.

I watched it. Thought it was funny how stupid those rich girls were. They didn't know what a well, soup kitchen, Wal-mart ........was. Then at the begining of the show they said the truck didn't go in reverse but later they were shown backing out of a parking spot. Also thought it was funny how the family knew it was them coming just by the way they were driving down the rutty dirt road. Can tell they've never been on a country road before.

I didn't watch it...I personally do not think that Paris Hilton deserves to be in the spotlight right now. FOX has been promoting the heck out of this show ever since the sex tape scandal hit. While I realize they were promoting it before, the last two weeks were HORRIBLE with the amount of commercials they aired for it.

What is it exactly that they're trying to get out of this, anyways? Were they paid to do it?

I (an honest to goodness reality junkie) watched it.

Hate to say it, but I laughed so hard I cried. I actually understand why the thing got good reviews.

You didn't know what Wal Mart was? :)

I found that hard to believe that Paris thought they sold Walls at Wal Mart.

I found Nicole to be much more down to earth and polite. Not that she went out of her way to be nice, but compare the way the two reacted when the grandmother approached the girls about plucking chickens. Paris shot right at her with "I will VOMIT!". Nicole was just like "I don't think I can do it" in a softer voice. Granted she was not going to do it, but she was much less...blunt than Paris.

Nicole at least thanked the family a few times during the show. I don't think that Paris did.

I would be shocked if I were them too. Sleeping with bugs is NOT for me. That town is in the middle of nowhere. Did they know what they were getting themselves into?

On a side note, that little boy is so cute!

Nope, I was brought up in Brooklyn and there were NO WalMarts there. When my sister in Chattanooga brought me to one I thought I had died and gone to heaven!

I agree, Nicole was very polite. But her Dad is a very polite, decent man, I didn't expect any less.

I don't think this was as much a money thing, I was NOT brought up rich and I couldn't handle the things they handled. It was a City Mouse, Country Mouse thing. I also didn't have shop for myself until I was 28... yeah I know... and had no IDEA how to maneuver a grocery store. I remember thinking salt and ketchup just SHOWED up on the shelves, the idea that they had to be bought just BLEW my mind.

I think the sex tape scandal was handled by her publicists. They are getting paid overtime to keep her name in the tabloids and on Entertainment Tonight. This drives people TO her show, not away.

The fifteen mins I saw was pretty funny. I like hearing from different lifestyles. I've heard alot of things the family said to the girls, especially the remark about LANGUAGE and how they couldn't imagine growing up in a big city, and wondered how other people reacted to it.

About the shoes - I heard on the radio that the girls wanted to wear jeans and tshirts to be more comfortable, but the producers wanted them to wear their expensive designer clothes and shoes to keep up with the image of them being spoiled rich girls.

I really wish they would let reality shows just be reality, not so produced. I know, I know, then they might not be interesting.

I can't belive I'm admitting this, but I live just a few miles (about 10, actually) from the town it was filmed in. And, by the way, I have NEVER plucked a chicken or milked a cow either - and I DON'T hang out at Wal-Mart. We have a wonderful university, a great hospital, a multi-screen movie theater, etc. It's really not as "middle of no-where" as they made it seem. By the way, I watched the first 15 minutes or so and lost interest myself. I just can't stand reality TV, although I did try to watch this one since it was filmed practically next door.

I thought it was a real HOOT and I am looking forward to seeing more again tonite. Those two girls cracked me up!
:teeth:

I thought it was really funny.

I honestly don't think that Nicole and Paris are as stuck up as they are shown. If I were put in their situation, I would have reacted the same way.

I mean come on, who has TICKS all over their bed? Give me a break! Plucking Chickens? Hello...can we say KFC!?! I give these girls a lot of credit for what they are doing. I personally, and call me a spoiled brat, but I couldn't have done what they did let alone give up my cell phone for a day!

The Wal-Mart thing was kinda funny, and in the little town my mom grew up in, their hang out is walmart and the sonic!

I still don't understand why they had a well in their house. And I agree with CBR... no plucking chickens or sleeping anywhere there could be ticks in my bed...thats just dangerous.

I like the girls personally. I think Nicole is more grounded than Paris but I still think they have good personalities.

I am hooked. I can't wait to see what will happen tonight. :)

I figured I would watch one episode..I agree with the above poster about Nicole being much more polite than Paris..also agree with the comments about the shoes..after watching it..I thought to myself "oh no..do we have another Jessica Simpson on our hands..noone could be as naive or dumb as Paris acts"..lol!..not watching it anymore after last nite!..the chicken plucking was bad enough..the bugs was the end of it for me!

I watched it and liked it. It cracked me up how when Nicole and Paris were laying on the couch not doing their "chores" or whatever, the little boy was with them lol

I didn't watch, mainly because I cannot even look at that Paris chick anymore, what with her face plastered all over every tabloid and entertainment mag. What exactly does she do, does anyone know? Or is she just a rich socialite?

Who is Nicole's father?

Perhaps I might have to watch it, if people are saying its funny. I always like a good laugh, and God knows I would not be plucking any chickens or sleeping with ticks either, so I can't fault them for that. I just cannot imagine getting to the point where I could like Paris, she just annoys me soooooo much when I see her face.

Or is she just a rich socialite?

yep, a rich socialite who is a wanna be actress.

nicole is lionel richie's daughter.

Snoopy,

Paris and Nicki Hilton are heirs to the 360 million dollar Hilton hotel fortune... Paris really doesn't do much but party but I beleive Nicki designs handbags...

Sigh.... must be nice ;)

O.K., that is what I thought. Quite honestly, I don't know that Paris has the looks to be an actress. She is attractive, but not beautiful, and sad to say, one has to be beautiful to really make it big in Hollywood. Lucky for her she has her father's trillions to fall back on.

I had no idea that this was Lionel Richie's daughter. How odd that she was selected, he doesn't seem like the type of person that would indulge his children. I would have thought they would have picked another socialite type person.

Snoopy, I read somewhere (cannot recall where) that Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie have been friends since they were children.
Like you I also was surprised that she was the daughter of Lionel Ritchie, I didn't think he seemed to be the type to overly indulge a child.
Also is she his daughter from his first wife, Brenda or his new wife(the one Brenda "put the smack down" on some years back)

I did watch the show last night and I thought it was funny especially in the Grocery Store, when they went over their $50 and asked the guy if he could just let them have the extra stuff.
