I liked it, but then again I love figure skating.

We watched it..I just wish it was on at 8 instead of 9....my 6 year old daughter loved the show but fell asleep before the last skaters.....

I personally thought it was very entertaining! My one criticism however is this.....I think they should have used celebrities that all had a similiar level of skating ability. Jillian Barbarie and Dave Coulier both skate...she as a child and he is a hocky fanatic. Kristy Swanson also had some previous skating experience. But on the other hand....if they were all the same level, that could have gotten pretty boring pertty fast.

It was nice to see how much they learned and how fast they learned it. I was particularly pleased to see Bruce Jenner do so well. It is not easy to learn to jump when you are an adult beginner skater. I know first hand.....I started skating, and jumping, when I was 28.

I am looking forward to next week.

Linda, I thought the same thing. You can tell Jillian has lots of skating experience. I was surprised at how well Bruce Jenner did. I was really impressed with his performance.

I think they should have called it Skating with "celebrities".

or

Skating with informercial celebrities

At least they did not call it Skating with Stars.

I really enjoyed the show and I think Scott Hamilton does a great job as the host. I was impressed how much the non-skaters improved in a short time. It's nice to see some Canadian contestants as most reality shows do not include Canadians.

HEY

I consider a celebrity anyone who can fight a vampire on the big screen or write a song that includes the phrase "shake your love, I just can't shake your love."

Sorry, anything even remotely associated with "Full House" makes me ill. Dave Coulier is got to be the least funny person in the world, second only to Bob Saget. :hyper2:

I'm a reality tv junkie and I didn't really like it. It was ok but not a must see. I don't see it lasting more than one season. I think because I'm used to watching Olympic level competitions and you can really tell they can't skate.
Especially Deborah "don't call me Debbie" Gibson. The judge was absolutely right to say it was all fluff. Now when I watch Dancing with the Stars, I haven't been watching ballroom dancing every year so I have nothing to compare them too.

I totally agree!!! :rotfl2:

I don't know which was worse!

Saw the show...I was impressed by how some of them learned so quick!

sorry, I can't watch it......although dance is my passion, my deceased Grandfather, a founding member of the Florida Oldtimer's Hockey Assoc...., had my passion redirected to ice skating for a while...I can't watch this show ~ way too painful!

We watched it here too. The first couple of minutes I thought it was going to bomb but it picked up slowly and I'd have to give it a 1 1/2 thumbs up.

As a child skater, I really was impressed with how much the *stars* learned in such a short period of time. Scott Hamilton was a wonderful MC.

My favorite duo was Lloyd Eisler and Kristy Swanson. Eisler is probably my favorite male pairs skater of all time and it didn't hurt that they skated to one of my most favorite songs of all times, The Air that I breathe by The Hollies. While their routine was not all that demanding, it complimented the music wonderfully and had grace and beauty.

So, yeah, I'll tune in next week. Even the husband, who thinks reality TV is ghastly, thought it was cute.

I watched it last night. I actually waited through the whole show to see Dave Coulier and Nancy Kerrigan! :rotfl: I hated Full House, but I do kind of like him since the show ended.

I loved the show. will post more later just putting in my 2 cents just so i can find the thread easier :)

I'm sick of Reality Shows - period...did you see American Idol's "crazy Dave" on Tuesday.LOL

Made it thru until Bruce Jenner came on, he creeps me out for some reason.

I am excited to see the upcoming shows. One of the blondes almost lands an axel. It took my DD 9 months to land that jump!!!

The blonde who almost lands the axel is Jillian Barberie....she skated as a child and apparently had the jump then so it is not like she is learning it from scratch, but re-learning it. It is still very difficult to do, but not impossible like a beginning adult skater trying to learn one. It took me almost a year before I had the skills to even attempt it and believe me, I was not a wimpy skater....I tried anything my coach asked me to try.

I was all about that show last night! Todd and Jenni cracked me right up...I LOVED their Wild Wild West routine. It was obvious he was busting his butt just to stay upright (and she was too...to not look like a rythmless white girl!). I also loved DAve and Nancy doing Soul Man. Kristy and Lloyd were my least favorites. I'm glad though that we don't get to vote on this show. Too many of those shows out there already.

I LOVE this show!! Bruce Jenner is such a big guy he looks strange skating--but he did a good job. I loved the Wild West routine. Soul Man was good also. Can't wait for next week!!
