Anyone want to guess why AP codes only go up to 6/3?

Our trip isn't until July 9th, but I was surprised to see the latest AP codes only go to June 3rd. Will they release codes for the rest of the month? Last year codes for after July 4th were released around May 3rd, I believe. Maybe with the backlash against Best Rate, Disney has decided to give discounts only periodically, as it states on the AP. Hopefully there will be more AP discounts through the summer, but if not, at least I'm already booked and paid for with a AAA discount. It would just be nice to apply my AP for a discount like last summer. What does everyone else think? :confused3

I am wondering the exact same thing. For me though, if the AP rates don't come out, we are moving offsite.

Discounts for rooms with an AP are never a guarantee, and they are offered to fill empty rooms. I think bookings are up and Disney is only going to release discounts in smaller increments until they determine how full the resorts are going to be. There have been times none were offered.

The true savings is in the unlimited admission to the parks. :thumbsup2

While I am aware they are not a guarantee, with Best Rate (with the execption of those initial week in October, I believe) they, in just about every way, were. Unless you had purchased an AP, you couldn't book a room with an AP discount. You couldn't even access the site without a voucher number. Now, it's right back the way it, was with many people booking without AP's and perhaps not even buying them when they get to Disney, because numerous people on the boards have stated that Disney never asks to see it at checkin. I am very lucky to have my room booked with some form of discount and we would never cancel if no AP discounts are released. I was just wondering if with the "failure" of Best Rate if it's become a case of "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it". Regardless, I'm just happy I got the room, at the resort I want, whether or not an AP code is is released. I can't imagine waiting to book based on whether or I get an AP discount. I would be a nervous wreck.

I'll never give up hope. I just want to get it over with. We are booked at CBR. The Ap is up June 30 so we already got our last year trip + DDE :cool1:

But we really do the pass for the Discount on Rooms.
Next year we are goin gto do the Dinning Plan I think

Us, too, Makmom! We had wonderful savings last year and we'll still be saving this year just by benefit of already having park admission through our Ap. The savings with DDE will also be a bonus! Enjoy your trip! :)

ITA. :thumbsup2

I'm still trying to figure out why it costs more with the AP discount for a moderate in regular season then peak season :crazy2:

I know it probably has to do with current bookings but it's kinda strange :)

Now I don't want to cause a frenzy here, but......one thing I did notice that booking through the Passholders benefit the codes still only go through April 8. However the current codes seem to be a "Special Offer", the link to those rates is totally separate. Is it possible that maybe some time in March we might see an extension of the Passholders Benefit rates. Then there is the possilbity that those rates might be lower than the current rate depending on booking? Just a theory......

My trip starts on June 5th. Two days after the AP rate. GRRRRR.

Interesting theory. I hope you are right because there are a lot of people who could not use the code for their trip because there were no rooms available where they wanted to stay. I guess time will tell! (I am SO glad I rented points at BWV for my April trip - I don't think I would have gotten an AP discount.)

I have never been but by reading the boards I noticed that some would extend there stay and get the rate then call back later and cancel the other nights. Notsure if they would work or not.

I have a theory. The AP codes that were just release take you thru 14 weeks. Less the 2 weeks not covered for Easter break puts us at about 12 weeks. I think Disney is going to release rates on a month to month basis based on bookings. Total guess but I think the next AP rates to be released will be for 6/3-7/4.

I am hoping for 6/3/06 to 7/4/06 - that would fit our time at WDW :cool1:

If no AP rates - then maybe we can eat less to account for the AP discount :goodvibes

There will probably be new ones released, but there may not. WDW is much busier than it has been in previous years, and this summer will most likely be a high point. If they can fill the rooms, they won't extend.

My June trip starts June 3 :teeth: but I need a one night room for July 1 and a discount would be nice... if not, I'll have a car and can look offsite.

Not to sidetrack the thread too far but I wanted to comment on what tekmom had said. I think the BRP was very good in the respect that she had mentioned, you were able to secure a discount with an AP as long as you HAD one or a voucher. Unfortunately living in the mid-atlantic we are unable to just head to DW on a whim as it entails a bit of planning so the last minute trips were not in the cards for us anyway. What I did like was the fact that this 'frenzy' was avoided of booking rooms which will probably not actually be taken. I am in the minority I realise but I think Disney should require a Pass/Voucher in order to book under this program which is exactly what BRP did. I mentioned in another thread that I witnessed a check-in meltdown last November because the CM asked a woman to see her AP and she went nuts because she DID NOT have one and had already purchased her tickets. As many have stated, a lot of CMs don't ask apparently but I feel they should. I understand the frustration with some of the restrictions of the BRP but I would think many would be content if the discounts extended past June, July or even August and then when the rooms still aren't filled, open up Public codes or packages at 3 months out.

Just my opinion. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread LOL.

Cheers,
