Anyone waiting for 2010???

Hello fellow Disney planners!

I thought I was crazy for thinking about our 2010 trip. So far, here is what I know...

*We are definitely going to be there over Christmas.
*We are definitely going as a whole family (me, dh, dd1, dd2).
*We are definitely going with extended family. (dm, mil, fil, sil, bil, bil, niece, nephew, ds, etc.)

It's actually going to be a planning nightmare for me with this many people. And mil likes to plan too. Already we don't agree on things during our preliminary discussions, so we'll see what happens!

I do know that we will stay somewhere reasonably priced, mod at the most, while mil wants to stay at the Contemporary. I just don't want to spend that much money!

But we will have a 5 year old and 3 year old, so we'll have to take into account naps. This will be our first trip with kids, so it will be a completely different mind set!

Anyone else like me w/the long wait of 2010? We were just at WDW this past Feb & our next planned trip is Feb 2010. Soooo long away...

We are in the long wait line with ya! Can't wait to go again! (Just returned from our last one in April this year.) The next visit will be with our extended family and will be even more fun!

I've just spotted this thread amongst researching- my bf and I will be having a trip in 2010 and porb staying at CRS but i'm not sure when yet- trying to make my mind up when is best to go

Count me in for 2010 (hey that rhymes!)

We just got back from WDW on Sunday It was so much fun and I'm ready to go back. Actually, I never wanted to leave in the first place. I was ready to take up residence under the castle bridge

I promised DH that we'd go to the beach next summer. He doesn't really understand my love for Disney. We agree to disagree (even though I'm always right )

So possibly a mother/daughter trip in 2010. He might come along but not visit the parks every day like us.

Things I'll do again:
Disney dining plan because it was so convenient and we tried many great restaurants that we normally would not have.
Stay onsite - definately added to the magic.
Take advantage of EMH, it was like a ghost town during the evening.

I'll have to do alot of thinking on what time of year to go. We enjoyed May, the weather was hot but not miserable and DD was out of school so we could stay as long as we wanted. The crowds weren't that bad either.

I would love to go in October though because of the Halloween party and free dining, if they continue to offer it through 2010. The only problem is that DD will only have a week off for Fall break.

I'm subbing. I think we should all stick together as a kind of 2010 support group if you will

Angie: We really liked going in Feb b/c of low crowds & nice weather, but I do want to go in May sometime too. That way we can go to a waterpark & enjoy more time in the resort pool. I told DH that I want to stay at BC for the May trip b/c DS would love Stormalong Bay. In 2010, we will most likely do Feb again & stay at CR, but I'm hoping the 2012 trip will be in May at BC. YES, I think that far ahead!!!

Hi, 2010 dreamers
We are planning for May 2010. Our children will be 10 yrs old.
We were there in '05, when they were just 5 yrs. old.
I am trying NOT to start plannning, because I have so long to wait.
But, I can't help getting on the boards and dreaming.........................
It will really be here before we know it.
My big debate is offsite or on.
In '05 we stayed at POFQ, and loved it !!!!
But, I have been reading reports of people staying at condos, and
enjoying all the room, space, and hot tub/pools.
I don't know, I will be doing some serious research on that one.

Long range plans are for long weekends in both late Feb for ESPN the weekend - to celebrate DS's high school graduation (a bit early) and in early December to celebrate DD's 16th birthday.

I am trying VERY hard not to obsess, but it is almost impossible for me!!

I can't wait to go in Feb '10... sounds like a good time to go. We loved going in December last year- the weather and crowds were great! Wonder if they will continue with the Pirates and Princess party in '10... we did it this past April and loved it as well.

We can help each other thru this wait! It will be okay!!!

Yeah! Glad to see more 2010ers!!! I'm always thinking of our next Disney vacation, it's never too early to start planning! It's at least under the 2 year mark for us now!!

We just got back and last week of May was great. I know alot of people subscribe TGM and follow his suggestions to the last detail but I think he says to avoid the parks when they have EMH's. I actually planned our park days depending on which park had the extra evening hours and I'm glad I did. We didn't get the park hopper option because we were only staying 5 days, and everyone knows it really takes longer than a day in each park to do everything you want to. The parks seemed almost deserted at night. It was so nice, and the evening weather was perfect in the low to mid 70's. I will seriously consider returning in May.

In 2006 we went the 2nd week of June and it was soooo hot. Also, June 1st is the official start of hurricane season and we ended up driving straight into tropical storm Alberto. That was frightning! Nothing was going to stop us from gettng to Disneyworld though

I love planning, this will be fun, we can share our ideas and have fun planning for 2010 together . It'll be here before we know it!

I'm hoping to go Oct 2010 (fingers crossed) with DD who will be 5. Not 100% sure on the resort yet, but been looking at ASM but wouldnt mind the CBR.

Whoohoo!! I'm so glad to find you all. My family is going to WDW this October and my friend just got back from DLand a few weeks ago and was going through some withdrawal.......so we picked our next date, haha
We're all going in Oct. 2010. Whoohoo!! My family of 3, me, DD, DH, my friend and her DS, my sister and her DD. Kids will be 8,10, & 11 when we go.
So, I wanna be here to play with you guys.

Our goal is to go either June, July or August of 2010 to celebrate DDs graduating high school. Don't know where we are staying yet, but I would bet POP. We went to POP when DS graduated in 2004 and will be going back to celebrate with DD.

It seems so far off and even though I can't wait to go. I don't want to rush DD through high school. The kids all grow up too fast already.

OOps almost forgot... DH and I will also be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary while we are there. I would love to renew our vows there, but I don't think there is any way we could come up with the $ for that, so we will maybe just stay a night or two in a deluxe resort. You never know.

Oooohhh, You need to order one of those pretty miniature wedding/anniversary Mickey head cakes. I think they have 2 tiers with little silver Mickey heads all over it. They're beautiful

I was wondering where everyone was on here. I've been having serious DW withdrawals here since getting back Memorial day week. I need to get myself a ticker too!
