For those who go to WDW in the summer....
Which summer month is it more comfortable humidity wise???
Which summer month (which week) does the crowd level go down???
How hot does it actually get???

Summer is hot and humid -starts in June and goes till fall. We've been
in july and august and haven't seen any difference in heat/humidity.
You will have a summer thunderstorm every day. It may miss where you
are, it may not. We had one storm that completely missed Epcot, where we
were, but when we took the monorail to the MK, we could see that the MK
got DRENCHED!.. stuff an umbrella, or a poncho in a bag to take along.

Temperature is (from when we were there) in the low 90's with very
high humidity even in the evenings... the temperatuure doesn't drop
much either...

As far as crowd levels, august starts to trend down in crowds as the FL
schools go back 1st or 2nd week of august.. otherwise it's busy except
for around the 4th of july where it's nuts!

Same experience as jdonot - we've been the past 2 years in July & August. It is very hot. Crowds are awful during the day at all the parks, but we get up go when the park opens and go back in the evening, we always have a great time, use fast passes a lot and plan in advance - we've never waited more than 15 minutes for a ride.

we go every year in July/Aug as its school holidays here it's vey hot somtimes can be very busy but we use fast pass alot we have always had a great time :sunny:

It starts to get hot and humid in May, as far as I'm concerned. It is still hot in September, and along with thuderstorms, there is the threat of hurricanes, too.

We've been in June, July and August. From now on, we'll be going the first week of June. To me the heat wasn't unbearable. The crowds, while still heavy, did not seem as heavy as mid June-August.

Summer at WDW is very hot and it rains every day.

But....

If you change you strategy, it is very enjoyable. In a lot of ways, I prefer summer.

In general, the parks are open much later in the summer than in other seasons. And everything is open...nothing is closed for refirb. If you plan to go to the parks at opening, take a break from 1 pm to 5 pm, then stay until closing,

you will still have an opportunity to stay in the parks for a very long time, you will avoid the wonnnnrst part of the crowds,
you will avoid the worst part of the heat,
you will get to enjoy the beauty of WDW at night, and
you will save money by eating lunch or an early supper off-site.

the last two weeks in August are very very humid and hot, but crowds are pretty low :)

We always go the end of August and while its very very hot and it rains almost everyday, the crowds aren't too bad compared to other times of the year.

We went last 2 weeks of August 2004. It was hot,
crowds were lower and we hit 1 Hurricaine.

We've been to WDW in June and July. It is brutally hot and humid. There is no way around it.

We went last week and it was 78 degrees everyday with low humidity - heaven!!!

You can still have fun in the summer, but be prepared. It is hot!

We are restricted to the UK school holidays and always visit mid-August, the average temperatures are in the low to mid 90s with high humidity also.

The crowds are not too bad from the middle of the month onwards, to be honest if possible I would avoid July when it is even hotter, and the parks bisier too.

Ditto - also....
The Florida kids are back in school - big plus for us - ours don't go back until after Labor Day. The resort rates also go down. We are big fans for the end of August.

I've been in both late May and Mid-June and both are very humid but temperatures in May are slightly less scorching and the crowds are a lot better in May too but they are not completely terrible in June either.

None of the summer months in Orlando is comfortable. May thru September is very hot and humid, with the month of July being the worst.

Used to go only in the summer, way back when we were alot younger and kids were still with us. Always wanted the heat of Florida and would always go when the summer extended hours were in effect. Middle June, July and August. Then for some reason we began going in September, then October, November and first 2 weeks of December. Those fall months are way better. Heat index and temps are still warmer than where we reside and sometimes hot enough to get a tan and swim. The crowds are moderate to non existing unless its a holiday peroid. Never will do those summer months again, too many better months out there to chose from. Summer in Florida is hot, I mean hot. Instant burn, hardly any oxygen in the air and you really spend alot of time indoors from that heat. Younger people tolerate that heat, and we did 30 years ago but now its draining on a person.

We always go in the summer, at the end of August. It's the only time when I could get away. Being in high school for the past 4 years and now being in college, the end of the summer is the best time for me to get away. Yes it's very very hot but just drink lots of fluids and keep going into ACed places. It's really not that bad. We've also been going in december the past few years and its realy nice, it's a nice change in weather from being very hot to being in the 70's. We are going to continue to go in the summer until we can't go no more.
