I'm trying to decide if it's a good idea for us. I know it's not a "deal" in the sense that we'd be saving money, but if we'd spend the same amount on our own, I'd like the convenience. A couple of questions:

1. We will probably eat more counter service meals than sit-down meals. Can we substitute sit-downs for 2 counter services, etc? I know we can sub sit-downs for character meals, and we'll be doing that.

2. If meal sizes are huge, could we still share counter service meals, using only one "voucher" for two people, and save up for when we've used up sit down voucher for our character meals, and need more counter service ones?

I don't want to waste food! The adults are big eaters, but the kids could share, I'm sure. And most of us drink water all day, not soda. Ideas?

Edited to add: I should say that we'll buy snacks to eat before coming, but we won't have a kitchen and don't plan to do any cooking besides cold breakfast in the rooms.

I'll try to help. You can share a counter service meal, they don't ask how many people will be eating the meal.

I don't believe you can substitute counter service for table service, but I'd suggest trying some table service meals because they reallly are nice after a long day of walking and standing, also the crystal palace breakfast buffet is a good one, I'd definately try that if I was you!

If you drink water that's fine, my mom used a lot of snack credits for these huge bottles of water (larger than a 20oz soda), with a sports cap, so it's well worth it.

hope this helps.

Using a sit down (TS) credit for a character meal isn't really substituting as they are TS restaurants.

I did read that you cannot use your TS credits for a CS meal. It doesn't make much sense to me as a CS is so much cheaper, but I would guess it's about how the credits are kept track of (meaning that a CS place would only be able to use CS credits in their system).

There are no vouchers, just credits that are on your room key. You can split meals anywhere but at buffets and character meals.

You can substitute table service for counter service - you can't sub the other way though - cs for ts. I looked on allearsnet.com and priced out what my family would probably eat on the menu's at sit down meals to see if dining would pay for itself. We had planned to do pretty much all cs meals until free dining plan was offered during our stay.

Look at pricing at approx. $7 per meal $5 per kids meal x lunch and dinner and breakfast at counter service and snacks x days I was already at the price of dining plan.

If money is the object - dining plan is great because you can do those table service meals, character meals you might want but didn't consider in at 20 bucks a pop for most character meals and w/dining you get app/entree/and dessert (how many would order dessert if not paid for) so plenty of food for all even if sharing.

Once I got the dining plan I set up a plan and made my PS's for sit downs. Looking at and doing the math now - we will be eating better for less money.

We too are planning on sharing some meals and you can also share TS meals. I know if we get a meal for DH & Me and one childs meal for our kids there will be plenty of food for all 4 of us thus saving a childs meal for breakfast or lunch.

Good Luck!!! :teeth:
