Marriott cheques or Marriott Rewards at the DTD Courtyard by Marriott?

Info I found for the cheques included

7. Marriott Dollar Denominated Cheques may be used for all publicly listed and available room rates and packages, but cannot be used for convention, travel industry, tour, advance purchase, catering, or group room rates.

so I take that to mean they cant be used for specials like the $20.03 off since it is a prepay rate? And how would reserving with a place like Dreams Unlimited be qualified?

So can I assume they would charge rack rates when using a reward certificate?

I don't think there is any "rate" associated with the Marriott Rewards program - you redeem points for a certificate for free room nights?



As for the cheques, I think they can be used to pay for a room that you procure yourself (through Marriott.com, toll-free number, etc.), but not for travel that has been arranged for you (travel agent, convention rate, etc.).
