trying to figure out our costs for our next WDW trip thiis 2oo7. just would like to know the cost for a round trp ticket for a sleeper car. any info anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

i was wondering if they are worth the money. we have gone to disney by train at least 7 to 8 times. i did price it a couple of times ,but was pricy. we usually end up taking a friend along for my daughter, so it would cost us more. one summer we got pay for 2 adults ,get up to 3 kids free coach seats. of course now she is 17 , so she says , please dont make me sit that long again on the train. haha. hey it was either sit for 1 1.5 days and go to disney or stay home., i do not like to fly. right now i have been checking prices for maybe around halloween week. just me and dh though . no kids. the sleeper price is very pricy. i would also like to hear from someone to see if the roomette is worth the money.

It really isnt worth it... we stayed up all night anyway.... but slept all day until we got there.... we did get our meals with it too.... and I was able to shower.... so it really is up to what you think is best....

for suzyq , im sorry to bother you with a stupid question, but me and myhusband are trying to figure out if the room has its own bathroom ,does it have a door???? cause we always travel coach, and obviously the rooms get really messy and they have a weird smell, so we were wondering how much better the roomette one is. thanks .

I have taken a sleeper as far as virginia from boston - the roomette (the one that sleeps 2) has its own toilet and sink. The train car has a shower room that is communal. There is a sleeper that sleeps 4 that is a lot more expensive, but there are just 2 of us and I am too frugal to spend the money for a bedroom (deluxe). There is a door to the roomette but no privacy using the toilet from your roomette-mate. I am travelling by train a week from today and will try to write up a report when I get to orlando. As for cost - I booked my tickets about 7 months out and it cost me 486.50 for 1 adult and 1 child boston to kissimmee one way. We are flying home by the way, the train was not because of fear of flying, but as an experience for my nephew (besides I like train travel).
any questions - feel free to send me a message.
Sharon :thumbsup2

We are taking sleepers again this year in August. I believe they are worth the price. It is not as fast as flying, but my kids like trains, so the trip is part of the experience for us. All of your meals are included in the ticket price, you have a seperate dining car, as well as bottled water, soda, and a newspaper each day. We always get (2) roomettes. We have managed to fit three people (kids) in a roomette.
We leave Phila about noon, get to NC when it's time for sleep, and wake up in Florida to eat breakfast, then it's just a few hrs to WDW.
You should note that there is athree tiered pricing structure for sleepers. The earlier you book, the cheaper they are. As the train fills up,the prices go up also, so book as soon as you can.
Depending on when you travel, plan on being 1-3 hrs late, especially in the (summer months).
If you have kids,IMO, it is the best way to travel. It is too long of a drive for us. This year my oldest in college is not going,so we have 5 people sharing 2 roomettes. My cost was $1400 round trip with a AAA discount. We booked later than normal (wife was thnking of flying),so we paid a little more than normal. :woohoo:

Here is a picture of roomettes

oh thanks cjm200. so there is no door for toilet, we were just wondering.i would prefer one..but ..oh well. yes please let us know how your trip makes out when you get back. that would be great for alot of us. thanks again. i knew the earlier the cheaper, but right now i feel like we have to get away for a week from everything...hahaha... so if we go i know it will be a little more pricy. well , thanks again. enjoy your trip.

All roomettes aren't exactly the same. Roomettes in Superliner sleepers (used on Auto-Train and the Sunset Limited) do not have toilets at all (there's a small restroom near the stairs, and larger facilities and shower downstairs). Viewliner sleepers (Silver Star & Silver Meteor) do have toilets in the roomettes, but they are not enclosed (open to the rest of the room). All Bedrooms, except the family bedroom, regardless of equipment type, have showers in fully enclosed facilities.
