I just ordered $40.00 worth of dollars for WDW thru the website. I'll let you know what they are like when they arrive. I beleive you can use them whereever you can use disney dollars. I think $20.00 are going to DS (13) for souveniers.(That means we charged $4000 since we got the card! (we don't keep a balance so its nice to have the running tab on your account summary).
I ordered mine through the website. They came in a week (although it said to allow 4 - 6 weeks). There is no name on them, but you must sign the back to redeem them and it does say they are non-transferable. They expire 12/31/04.
I thought I had read something about them expiring sooner if you take them out of your account, guess this confirms that. Something to keep in mind if you won't be using them in the near future. ~~

That's good to know! I had been thinking about cashing them in occassionally rather than let them build up in the account. If they expire sooner when you cash them in, I guess I'll just have to be satisfied looking at them from afar!
No. You can redeem them for up to 5 yrs from the date you "earned" them. Apparently from what SuzyQue says, once you redeem them, they have a different expiration time that is shorter than 5 years. I don't know how much shorter, but maybe someone else does??? What you're wanting to do would work fine though.
Yes, georgina posted above that they ordered their's from the website just recently and that they have an "expiration" date of 12/31/04, obviously that's not 5 years. ~~
In the Reward Dollars pamphlet it says once you transfer your Disney Dream reward Dollars into reward certificates or reward cards they will expire on the expiration date indicated on them. It doesn't say how much time you get until the expiration date though. Two types of certificates are available, you choose either Disney World Resort & Disney Cruise Line or DisneyLand Resort. I also read but can't find it now it said the certificates can be used at select locations in DisneyWorld or DisneyLand. You can also get reward cards that can be used at only U.S. Disney Store locations or disneystore.com or disney catalog.
I thought the 5-year time frame was to turn them into the Reward $'s. Meaning, if you have spent enough to earn $100 reward $'s, that you have 5 years to "cash them in". Then, from the information on this post, it seems that you will need to use them by whatever expiration date is specified on the Reward $'s.
I think that is right. That's how I'm reading it. (I'll probably never have them accumulate for longer than a year!) I wish they'd give us a better idea on when the certificates expire. Maybe you can ask when you call? I want to be sure to leave enough time to have them mailed to me before the trip, but not so much that they expire.
At the end of the application process, I asked the woman if the Swan/Dolphin accepted the disney certificates. Without hesitation she said "yes".
You can use them for lodging, restaurants, tickets, shopping & the cruise line as well.
Also, the certificates are printed for $20.00. You need to reach the $20.00 point to redeem.
Accumulated rewards are good for 5 years. Once you request a certificate(s), they are good for one year.
They told me my application may take up to 30 days.
