Anyone use the Disney Visa Dream Dollars?

Has anyone used Disney Visa's Disney Dream Dollars on a cruise? I am racking up points on my Disney Visa, and redemption information/tips would be appreciated from anyone who has redeemed these points on a cruise.

1. I know you can put the points towards your cruise payment in advance, but can you redeem them on board in the shops? redeem them for drinks?

2. Can you redeem then when booking a shore excursion?

3.And, can you redeem them when you pay your cabin shipboard expenses?

We are booked on a Spring Break 2006 cruise, our second time on the eastern route. We were lucky to book three hidden porthole rooms for our group. But, I guess when you are crazy enough to book almost TWO YEARS in advance, you get a great cabin selection!

All ship-board expenses -- Drinks, excursions, etc. are billed to your shipboard account. You can use the Visa Rewards to pay your shipboard account. So in effect you use your Disney Rewards to pay for all of these things.

When you redeem your rewards, you get a stored value card that has the dollars earned stored on it. Just take this to guest services sometime during the cruise and have them apply it to your shipboard account. That's all there is to it.

I was told not to apply the entire card unless the account was at least that much. They will not refund the unused portion. What I did was go and put the tips on the account, then used the card to pay the account down to zero. I ended up with some money left on the card, which I used to buy some treats at Downtown Disney!

you can use them towards your tips too...once they are on the stateroom acount they can go towards anything you buy....
