This code will drop my rental by $5 per day but Mary's site says some people have had problems. This makes me a bit nervous.

Anyone using it?

I used it Oct 1 to 6 with no problem. My total bill was $120 including a $15 entertainment coupon. Emerald Aisle, Intermediate. I snagged a Monte Carlo with 8 miles on it! The rate says "variable", I noticed on the receipt that they had all the days of the week listed and a rate next to each, but the rates were all the same (about $20). So I guess in some cases the rate will vary by the day of the week.

I used it also sept15th thru sept27th, $305 dollars for 13 days for a full size car taxes included. I had no problem at all. I will use the code again for my next trip to wdw.Good luck....It will be fine:D

I used this code to book my up coming trip in December, but I am a little leary now. I just check Mary's website Mousesavers.com and she said people are having trouble using it.

I have emerald isle service do anyone think that will make it easier?

Thanks,
Lyn

I just want to reiterate that I have personally used the Carlson Wagonlit code in Orlando TWICE without any problems (both times using Emerald Aisle service).

I have also heard from dozens of people who have also used it in Orlando without problems.

3 people wrote to me and said they had problems. Two were NOT in Orlando and the third didn't tell me where she used it -- but she was able to get her rate anyway, just had a slight hassle.

So if it makes you uncomfortable, you can always make a backup reservation or try a different code. Personally I'm planning to use this code again in December.

Mary:

I see you are from San Diego. I hope all is well and you are out of the range of the fires. Our prayers are with all of you.

My 23 year old son lives in San Diego and hasn't been able to go to work for 3 days. He assure me that he is far enough away from the fires that I shouldn't worry but I always do.

Lyn,

We're fine! The fire came MUCH too close to our home for comfort last Sunday (there were voluntary evacuations in our neighborhood), but the fire near us has been fully contained.

It rained pretty hard in our area this morning, so hopefully that was true in other areas of the county, too. We need all the moisture we can get at this point!

Thanks for the kind thoughts.

We used the Carlson code this past September and combined it with a free-day coupon with absolutely NO problem. We used Emerald Aisle and the man in the booth didn't even bat an eye at the codes. Using the combination of the Carlson code and the free day coupon got us a 3-day rental at $71 including all fees and taxes. Awesome!! (Thanks, Mary!)

Just got back today. Used the code and didn't have any problems. We used a Sam's Club coupon too. There was no question about the code or the coupon. They never asked to see the Sam's card and didn't question the code!

Mary/Foodlover -I hope you are still monitoring this. I have emailed you before but I want to say publicly that you are a goddess and your site is terrific!

DH and I used the Carlson code in Ft. Lauderdale on columbus day weekend. Had a 4 day rental, Emerald Aisle, with the BJ's free weekend day coupon, for a few cents under $90. Ended up getting a nicely upgraded Chevy Impala, complete with sun roof to boot.

Thanks Mary!

This is not an official statement, but.... I think the Orlando location at National really does not check the conditions on codes often. Perhaps because they are so busy and in a very competetive market.

I saw Mary's note on her site and I am pretty sure that at least one of those locations was probably a franchise. I have had more problems with rental car companies honoring rates at "franchise" locations then any corporate location. (I had one that would not honor my corporate discouont "because we don't like it." Hertz had to refund me money!)

I used this code plus a $15 off entertainment coupon on October 23rd and had no problems at all. $120 total for 5 days! BTW, the EA had a great selection that morning (10:30 am). A Dodge Grand Caravan, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Intrepid (2), Grand Prix (2), Blazers (3), Azteks (2) and a Jeep Wrangler which I snatched up. DH was in heaven driving around with the top off!

we are spending 5 nights in Disney in beginning of December....do you guys have the Carlson code that I can attempt to use?
Thanks....
Tom

mousesavers.com has a lot of codes...Good luck:wave2:

Since everyone seems to not be having a problem in Orlando I am going for it and using the code. Not only that but the new entertainment book has a $20 coupon for 5 days or more with National so my rate for December 3rd - 8th for an intermediate is $114.96 and my reservation is Emerald Isle so we just get in and go. Isn't this great. Thanks Mary.

Hi,

We are just back from our WDW trip. Our group rented a total of 3 cars, all using the code. There was no problem at all with the code. The only problems we had were related to the fact that there were no cars. When my parents arrived, there were no cars so they were told to take an SUV. They took a CHevy Suburban and the final charge was more than the quoted price. They are going to dispute that with National. This happened to me before and the quoted price was honored by National.

Also, when my family arrived at 10:30 pm at night (mucl later than my parents), there were NO CARS. I mean NO CARS. The only thing in site in the whole garage were a couple of 15 Pax vans, which we did not want. Someone finally drove up with an Olds Alero which we took. They then drove up a mitsubishi galant, and another car similar to an Alero. The cars were getting snatched up as soon as they brought them, because there was nothing in site.

Before everyone panics, we arrived on 11/6, the most heavily travelled day of what has become known as "Jersey Week".
