Anyone use the 10 day world pass lately?

Thanks for the info -- the 10 day pass is a BIG savings over the 9 day UHP. This is the way I am going to go.

One questions - does Paramount give you any guarantee or warranty on the these tickets? From everything I have read, I don't think we will have a problem, but you always want to be sure.

Thanks,
TmnsnMD

Is the 10 day pass a hopper? I am looking for a friend, we have PAP and would hate to leave them behind while we park hopped.

TIA

Does this pass have an expiration date? If I purchased it now, do I have to start using it by a certain date? Also- are these the same $ for adults & children? Thanks for any info!

I used the 10 day pass in August. It had an expiry date and the ones currently on sale in the UK for £189 (approx $350) have an expiry date of 30 November 2004. A child's ticket costs £149. These passes can be used to park hop.

We bought the 10 day World Pass for our vacation last June from Paramount. Paramount was great to deal with; no problems there.

In regard to using the World Pass, we didn't run into any issues that weren't resolved. We did have one incident entering MGM....for some reason my DS-10 year olds fingers didn't scan right. I think that happened at the other parks as well, and they just waved him through, but at MGM, they checked out the situation thoroughly. The CM then asked if we were from outside the country and mentioned that that was an International Pass. I just said no, we're from Cincinnati. My younger kids had gone through the gate, and I was still on the outside with my DS-10. The CM wouldn't let him through, but I had to get to the little ones, so I went through and just sat on the opposite side of the fence from my DS-10 while my husband went with the CM to Guest Relations. Once at Guest Relations they decided the pass was fine afterall. Whole thing took about 15 minutes was a little disappointing since we'd arrived at opening hoping to get in early, but at that point, I was just relieved we got in. Never had another problem. Guess it could have been a fluke that could have happened with any kind of ticket. The International Question thing made me a little nervous, but again, ultimately, even after giving an honest answer indicating we were from Ohio, they let us in.

I had mixed feelings about whether it was the right pass for us, and I'm thinking that this year we might go back to the 7Day PHP. On one hand, we were there for 11 days, and it was relaxing to know that the tickets were paid for, and we could go to any park, any time, for as short or long of a time as we liked, without debating about whether we should 'use a day' or not. That was also good because it seemed our kids did best with a 1/2 day at a park and a 1/2 day just relaxing at the pool or in the room. A bonus was that Disney Quest was also included in the World Pass; definitely wouldn't have wanted to spend the money for my younger two to be admitted to Disney Quest, but with the World Pass we made two short trips there.

On the other hand, because we had the passes I was more driven to get into the parks every day....at least for a short time....and I think I ran the family a little ragged. (I know....this is mostly my personal problem and not a real problem.) They would have rather had some days where we didn't go anywhere. Net, this June I'm thinking about the 7Day PHP figuring that we can be a little more flexible, and if we choose to have more laid-back non-Park days, we'll come home with days left over for next year. (The World Pass' expire after 10 days.) At the same time, between the main tickets and the Pluses, we'll still be able to go somewhere every day if we choose to do that, and we will have saved a couple hundred bucks for our family of 5.

Guess it all just depends on what you want to do!

We were thinking of doing this as well. 7 day php for the 3 of us will run about $880. One child and 2 adults. The 30 day pass is $15 cheaper than the 7 day php, and you get DQ, and the character breakfast. I figured by the time you add extra tickets to DQ, and the cost of the breakfast, it would save us about $150! However, our trip is in August, and we were planning on going back down in December for a weekend for dd's birthday. The original plan was to use leftover days from the php since they don't expire. The 30 day pass will have expired by then. So...what to do, what to do...save in August, or have tickets left over for December? HELP!

p.s. We are going for a family reunion, and some of our parties will have the UPH, so they will get into everything without worrying about "using a day" for half days or whatever...

KIRSTIN'S MOMMY --if you are going twice this year I would consider getting either an AP or a PAP. Who know maybe you can even swing 1 more trip before it expires. We bought PAP's for our Oct trip knowing that we would be making atleast 1 more trip on them. Actually the boys and I will be getting 3 trips out of ours since we went in Dec also and our last trip on them will be June. We used them 4 days in Oct, 8 days in Dec and we will be using it about 10-12 days in June.
We were considering the 10 or 30 day pass for my niece and nephew since they are going with us this time. Their parents will be there a week after we get there so they are just going with the 7 day php.

I've been thinking about that. But, the only problem I'm having is this: The cost of PAP's for the 3 of us (me, dh, and dd) equal $1394. The cost of 7 day PHP's for the 3 of us is $880, which is a difference of $514!!!:earseek: I don't know that we can afford to add an extra $500 into our vacation budget, although I know we "may" be able to apply an AP discount to our room. But, the room is paid for except for $100, so that won't really help unless we can over pay the room and have credit for purchases or something. I'm just so torn! We already have AP's for UO/IOA (we bought the buy one year get one free deal last year and have only used them for one weekend!) that don't expire until Sept. 2005.....I also added up the cost of doing the water park ap's seperately, which would save me about $60 total, but don't know if it's worth it to keep up with 2 passes. I thought I had setteled on the 7 day php tickets, but now I just don't know...we're really on a budget here.

I know its hard to decide. Such a big chunck of money either way. BTW we have Universal passes too and we really like having them. You get some pretty good discounts on meals and such. And good room discounts.
What made us go with the PAP's (or even AP's) was comparing the costs side by side. We could put down a larger chunck of money one time. Or pay the cost ofthe park hoppers--even the best priced ones--2 times. Turns out for us it was cheaper to go with the AP's. Although it hurt at the time, lol, it felt pretty good in Dec and will June also, to not have to buy tickets for our trip.
Either way you go you'll have a great vacation.:D

Just returned 1/28/04 and used the 10 day World Pass purchased from Paramount Travel.

We had no problems at all with this pass. They were shipped within 2 days along with the breakfast certificates. They are regular park hoppers marked on the back as 10 day world passes. We just signed the backs and did a finger scan and we were in.

We hopped all over the parks and used our free breakfast certs. at 1900 Park Fare at the GF.

We will use Paramount again for our next trip!

Any questions please feel free to ask! I would have never known about these passes if it were not for the DIS :sunny:

Were the tickets delivered by UPS or regular mail?

4greatboys....I think we've decided to go with the regular AP's. Since our next trip will be in Dec. we decided to just pay for the day at the water park in August.

I think that's agreat ideal KM! maybe you can even work in a third trip on your AP's ;) :teeth:

disneyjunkie,
the tickets need to be signed for...they came ups. When the ups man delivered them I was all excited and told him "I was going to Disney world". He was unimpressed by this! Imagine someone not being excited about going to Disney!:hyper:

I believe if you do get a paid room discounted further that you can leave a credit out there for incidentals charged to the room - post that on the resort board and you should have an answer quite quickly.
