I posted this on another thread but thought I'd try here...

At my old work, we used Outlook and somehow I added the contacts icon to my desktop.

I now have Outlook 2003 at work. I have 2 contact folders, one called "personal" and one called "business".

Is there anyway to send a shortcut of my Personal & Business contacts to my desktop?

Yes.

Right click anywhere on your desktop and select new -> shortcut.

When the box pops up, if you are using the default Office installation, type in this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" "outlook:personal"

Then do the same thing and create one that looks like this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" "outlook:business"

Should work fine! :)

Let me know!!

Got it to open the contacts folder but not my 2 subfolders.

What did I do wrong?

Holy cow...I got it.

After an hour of searching the internet, I found an easy way to do it. Here's what I've found so someone has it for future reference. Now I need to save it for myself as well.

To create an Outlook folder shortcut on your desktop:

1. Start Outlook.
2. Resize the Outlook window so that you can see your desktop in the background. To do this, either click the Maximize button in the Outlook window, or place your cursor on each corner of the Outlook window, left-click, and then expand the window in or out.
3. In the Folder List pane or on the Outlook Shortcut Bar, right-click the Outlook folder for which you want to create a shortcut, and then drag the folder to your desktop. If you do not see the Folder List pane, click Folder List on the View menu.
4. When you receive a dialog box with the following options, click Copy Here

Thanks again for all your help. Sorry to be such a pain.
