anyone use mobile check in?

We are flying Southwest July 3rd and my god-mother who just came up here southwest said she checked in on the iphone app and they scanned her in that way. Has anyone tried that before? If so, were you able to check in all of your party? There is 5 of us going, 4 of us have the same confirmation number and my nana has a different one.

Also my god-mom told me if you have a handicap playcard you can do pre-boarding. I was in an accident and got a broken foot, had surgery & etc. Long story short still recovering, walking with a limb and have a screw in my foot and walk slow, so is it possible that i'll be able to do pre-boarding with my card? I was going to call southwest or the airport and ask them. If I am able to pre-board, Will my family be able to pre-board with me as well?

If you do a mobile check in, you can check everyone in, but you'll have to do the separate confirmation number separately. I avoid doing the boarding pass on the phone thing because it still confuses too many employees. It's easier to use a paper boarding pass.

just for the car and it stays in the car, but I was planning on taking it to florida with me lol

We do it all of the time on Delta. It's seamless through TSA and at the Gate.

Anyway.....as already noted, only one person is supposed to accompany the medical preboard person..not the entire family. I saw an entire family try to preboard with Gramps awhile back. There had to be 12 of them total. Gramps was using a walker...so wanted to board early. The gate agent said that was fine and who would be going with him? Everyone yelled 'Me!!'. The gate attendent said 'No, not all of you...just one person. The rest will board as usual.' They were not happy campers. The really funny thing??? When we got off the plane, I was behind Gramps..when we got to the gate, that walker got folded up and someone else took it for him. He took off like he was shot from a cannon...told everyone to hurry up to beat the crowds to the tram!!! Really pretty funny.
But....those who board as medical preboards are not allowed to sit in the exit rows, nor are those that accompany them. They will be told to move from those seats.

I am even worried about us going to Universal on the 4th and if i'm going to be able to make it through the whole park, we went to the mall the other day and after walking around the whole mall by foot was really bothering me. If I go on with one other person can I save the rest of the seats for the 3 other people in my group? I never want to sit in an exit row so that won't be a problem for me.

No, SWA has a first come first serve boarding system. There is no seat saving. If a seat doesn't have a warm body in it then it is free seat for anyone who wishes to sit in that seat. If you are able to walk the mall you really don't need to medical pre-board. Just board when your group is called.

The walk onto a plane is a short one. I personally don't see why you need pre-boarding; getting on first doesn't make the walk any shorter, and sounds as if you can walk at a normal pace for a short distance at least, so you won't be holding up the line. However, it's your decision.

You might want to look over on the Disabilities forum for suggestions on how to get around the parks with your walking problem.

Yeah I may. Still will use it though. My god-mother uses hers and she walks fine, she only has a disability card and she has her for an hearing reason and she still uses that.

If you booked your flights together there is only 1 confirmation #. I did the check in on my iPhone (for our family of 4) at 24 hours before our flight and then later when I had some free time, asked the concierge at our resort to print out our boarding passes. Easy peasy and no need to be sitting in front of a computer at the crucial 24 hour period moment. As a matter of fact, I was sitting by the pool at Wilderness Lodge.

Yes, we actually have android phones, but still do have the southwest app. Do the people at the airport have any problem with the mobile check in? I can check in the 4 of us on my phone and since my mom has an android as well she can check in my nana who has a separate conformation #. Hers is separate because she got the senior ticket.

when we got the itneray(sp) emails hers came seperate. I will check to see if they are the same or different.

Keep in mind you can also check in on your phone, and then go to a Kiosk when you get to the airport and print off your boarding passes - in my experience anyways (and in fairness, not with Southwest) the mobile boarding pass is nice and easy when you're only one person traveling, but it's a bit of a hassle with one phone and multiple passengers.

Yeah I don't know if I remember seeing them last year when we flew. They may have had them though. We have a printer so its not that, just was trying to see if there was another way we could do it. Thanks for that hint.
