Anyone use Kidvantage at Sears?

I have been doing this for years now, but as I talk to people, not many I know use the program. I have a boy who is terribly hard on the knees in his jeans. I purchased 2 pair of Levi's in the fall, and with the wear out guarantee, I have replaced that set of jeans 4 times during the school year. 10 pair for the price of 2! I keep thinking Sears will go out of business soon if they keep giving away jeans. Maybe they are just 'giving' them to me? Wondering if there's anyone else using that to help the clothing budget.

I used it for Levis for my son when he was younger also. I always wondered how they could afford to do that. It was such a great deal!

He was terrible on the knees! Thank god he has outgrown that....

and, lol, now he would not even think about stepping into Sears !

I think anyone with young boys would be crazy not to use it. I'm like you, we've gone through 4 replacements in a year as well. (I swear my son used to walk on his knees or something.)

He'll still content to wear their cargo pants at 12, but he's growing SO FAST. (He's outgrown most of his clothes I bought him just in Feb!) Only place his pants are coming from now is Goodwill. I can buy him enough pants to get buy at $2/each, and don't worry when he's outgrown them, lol. (And thank goodness it's shorts season!!)

Don't forget about the shoes with kidvantage! My oldest dd has gone through 3 pairs in the last 6 months!! We traded in a winter coat when the zipper stopped working and got a brand new one too.

I absolutely use it! I buy their school uniforms there and replace several times during the year when they blow out the knees.

I forgot I could do shoes there too. We just bought some cheapo sneakers from target last month and there is already a hole in the toe. I guess I get what I pay for.

we've had several of DS's pants replaced because of the knees wearing out as well - also had a pair of sneakers replaced

unfortunately Sear's doesn't carry 1/2 sizes in kids shoes and both of mine are in between right now

DUH! I was just complaining to my mom today about DS getting holes in 2 pairs of jeans just this week. Completely forgot Sears had this, but definitely know where I'm buying jeans from now on!

You just take the worn out pants/jeans in and tell them you'd like to do a kidvantage exchange. The only catch is that you must exchange for the same size. If your child hasn't outgrown them, they will replace them if they are worn out. Blown out knees counts as being worn out. Some stores are picky and want receipts, esp. for Levi's, but for Sears clothing brands, you don't need the receipts.

DS is starting school this Sept. and I am already enrolled in Kidadvantage, just never used it. I will make sure to keep my receipts because my Sears will most likely be one of the stores that asks for a receipt. Thanks to all for the great information.

Hi,
SEARS company policy for levis exchange is that the customer has the receipt. There are many stores that carry levis and there has to be a proof of purchase.

You would be surprised how few people actually take advantage of kidvantage.

My only problem with Kidvantage is that I can never find the coupon!! It goes into my wallet, and the same gremlin who steals socks from the dryer somehow manages to steal the coupon!

But it's a great program--anyone with kids (or grandkids) who lives near a Sears should most definitely take advantage!!!!

What coupon are you talking about? I never get a coupon.

Once you've spent $100 in the kids department (cumulative, so it can be over a number of visits) you receive a coupon for either 10 or 15% off your next kids' purchase.

Once or twice I've managed to actually hang on to the coupon and used it for back to school or Christmas shopping-- the savings can be sizeable!

I've used it but only on shoes. Jonah is ROUGH on his shoes and he has worn out two or three pairs. We only buy their tennis shoes from Sears now, but I doubt that will last forever

I used to purchase most of my kids clothing at Sears and loved getting the coupons. My girls grew too fast to wear out their clothes. I only used the replacement program one time and then they gave me a real hassle. I had purchased a pair of jeans that were a "Sears" brand. Obviously couldn't have bought them anywhere else. She wore them once and they began to fall apart. I no longer had the receipt but when I took them in the store didn't want to exchange them because I didn't have the receipt. Hello, they are a Sears only brand AND they still had them hanging on the wall next to the cash register! These were very decorative jeans and would not have been in stock if they weren't current so obviously I had recently purchased them AT SEARS. Both the cashier and the floor manager refused to exchange them so I demanded to speak with the general manager. The GM did let me exchange them but it was really a hassle.

Question:

Doesn't the exchange have a limitation? Doesn't it need to be within a 12 month period with a receit?

I haven't used this for a long time, but I remember others (I think) commenting that Sears had cracked down a bit and were limiting the time.
