Anyone Use Hertz (off-site) at MCO?

The best rate I got for an upcoming trip is with Hertz. However, they are located off-site at MCO...would have to take a shuttle. Just wondering if the extra savings is worth it.

Anyone have experience renting from Hertz?
How good is their shuttle service?
How far away are they from the airport?
How about on the return -- will we have to leave extra, extra early to return car?

I've only rented from National/Alamo in the past, so I'm used to walking right over to the garage (spoiled!).

Thanks in advance!

We haven't used Hertz lately but when I have used them the shuttle bus is usually there waiting for folks, maybe the most we've waited before leaving was 5 minutes. The off airport site is also about 5 minutes away. We are Hertz #1 club members, so our name us up on a big display board saying what stall the car is in, get in, show license at the exit gate and you're done.

You're sort'a on your way to Disney, no need to backtrack through the airport with your car. Oh well, about 3 blocks out of the way.

Hertz tells you to turn right with your car onto the main drag (436; Semoran Blvd.). I add, take a right at the last light in sight (Frontage). Little over a mile is next light (Conway), take two quick lefts onto 528 (Beach Line) west. All the way to end, then onto I-4 west (southwest). Disney exits appear soon. Total toll one dollar.

Returning (most ramps go I-4 to I-4 east fork) to 528 east, get off of 528 at its exit 9 (Tradeport). Left and cross under. Nice cheap gas station on left to top off at. Get into middle lane facing north, required right onto McCoy (becomes Frontage), little over a mile is Semoran, go left and Hertz is a coupl'a blocks. (Other renters: turn right from Frontage onto 436 to enter airport from north.)

The Hertz (and Thrifty) facilities are on SR 436 directly north of the airport's NORTH exit road. It's VERY easy to get to/from and if they're giving you the best rate, I would not hesitate to use them.

Hertz at MCO is great. There is always a shuttle bus waiting. On your return to MCO do curbside check in with the luggage. You could just have the driver take the shuttle. I used to take the shuttle to get the car and come back and pick up the family and luggage.

I think it is very easy to return to the airport property and take 417. Much less stressful drive than 528 and I4.

We used them on our cruise last year. We only waited about 2 minutes for the bus. The ride to the lot was about 5 - 7 minutes.

Actually got upgraded to a Toyota SUV from a sedan (although 1st car they gave us was a Honda mini van that had something wrong with the engine).

I would not hesitate to use them again and we used to always rent from the companies at MCO.
