Anyone use Hardside Luggage?

I was looking at some hardside luggage since it's 50% off at kohl's right now. Samsonite and American Tourister brands. I just worried about cracking. Does anyone use hard side luggage and has it cracked a lot? I've only had the soft luggage but it gets all wet and dirty and smelly that I pack everything in ziploc bags (also because I don't like TSA touching my underwear! hahaha) Just wondered if anyone had any opinions about the cracking. Thanks!

We use Delsey luggage. Very lightweight. They only problem we have had, is when the TSA snipped the zipper from the TSA-approved lock. [Happened only one time]. Have not used either Samsonite or American Tourister for a long time. Never had problems with either brand.

I have some Heys luggage that I've had for almost 10 years. It's been on 25+ plane trips with me and no cracking. There are a couple of dents and a broken handle on one, but overall they've held up remarkably well.

My brothers hard sided luggage cracked this last trip on the way home from DCL. Useless now.

It certainly doesn't last as long as the softer luggage but it protects your belongings much better
