I am searching for a good rental deal for a minivan from Orlando to Nashville. Using Expedia, I found a rental for $272.67..... but on the Price Summary it has a Base price listed at $1567 then taxes and fees at $76 but under that is has Total Price of $272.67...which is what was presented to me when I chose this deal. ...I'm confused. What is my total price actually?

At the bottom of the page, it has "The following fees may be charged at the time of rental for additional servicesl Extra day $24 and Extra Hour $750.....

I don't want to be surprised at check in with a $1500+ fee I was not expecting.

Anyone use Expedia for a car rental and did you have any surprises?

What are your travel dates. I want to take a look at Expedia to see what it says about your rental.

arriving at MCO to pick up van on June 20th and dropping off at BNA (Nashville, TN) on June 28th.

What are the prices booking directly with the car rental company? One way rentals can be VERY expensive. Call the car rental company directly.

I would go directly through the car rental agency, personally. I've gotten a terrific deal on a one-way rental before, so while they can be very spendy they aren't always. But I would have wanted to go directly through the company.

I've booked a simple rental through Expedia before, and it was fine, but not with such weird wording as yours has.

I can't explain why it is showing that $1500 in fee's. When I priced the same reservation directly with Budget I got the price of $272 and that is without any discount coupons. If you look around on the board you might find a discount code to reduce the price. I would book with Budget directly

Is it Alamo or Enterprize that has a deal for one way rentals? It's reserved a different way.
That cost is going to be high, you are not returning it to MCO. If they want to it there and your driving it home, the fees will be high. The agency will have to replace the loss of a minivan. At that rate there may be other options flying a discount airline.
