My family and I were pretty much sold on the fact that our trip in 19 days was going to be bus after bus after bus with $300 rental car for 5 days...

My dad was able to find a car from Dollar Rental Cars at MCO for just under $200.

We typically use National or Alamo and never Dollar before...

Anyone use Dollar before??

Were you happy with the service and car?? By the looks of the website it seems they have decent cars!

TIA

We've had very good luck with Dollar many times. Like National and Alamo they're located at the airport. Join Dollar Express to skip the regular line at the reservation desk. Dollar is usually one of the lower priced rental alternatives at Orlando.

OP: this is good advice. We last used Dollar in Nov 07. We waited in that line for an hour just to get paperwork to take to the garage and wait in another line there to get keys. The car was dump but it was only for 2 days and didn't want to wait in that long line again to request another one.

Since then we've exclusively used Alamo. I love their kiosk and being able to choose a car.

We rented from Dollar at a hotel location just next to DTD. The only problem I had was that the woman who rented us the car did not indicate on the rental agreement in the computer that the car only had 1/4 tank of gas in it. She told us that we needed to return it with at least 1/4 of a tank or we would be charged for additional. When we returned the car and they checked the gas, there was more than 1/2 tank. Guess what? We were charged for gas because we didn't return it full. It took talking to three individuals, but they finally took off the gas charge. We had to show the credit charge slip showing that we filled the tank.

We rented from Dollar in Feb. We paid for a midsize and got a PT Cruiser. We rented from the DTD area location. They came and picked me up from the resort to get the car. On the return, I choose to just take a bus since I was going to DTD.

We have a reservation at Dollar for our upcoming trip. The price was just over 200 with the city special code for a six day rental for a full size car. There was a better price from Hotwire, but we choose not to drive from MCO and will use the ME. That is easier than handling the luggage for our group.

We always rent from Dollar. Sign up for Dollar Express and you'll bypass the lines at the airport. Great cars, quick service, super prices.

ITA. Used Dollar in 2008 and joined Dollar Express the day before we arrived. Even without a permanent membership card, they processed us a DE members. Skipped the long line there at the airport. Dollar had the lowest prices and we got a killer deal on their lowest level car. Turned out they didn't have any (economy I think), so we got a Toyota Highlander for that super low price. It had low miles and was immaculate. They processed us back in quickly at return too.
