Anyone use a Tempurpedic Pillow?

While DH and I have been mattress shopping, we have seen the Tempurpedic pillows in most of the mattress stores and are very intrigued by them. I would love to try them to see if they help with my migraines but the price is a bit steep.

Anyone have them? Tell me the good and bad! Would you buy them again? Is there a generic one that is just as good and less expensive?

Thanks for any input!

I had a Tempurpedic pillow but didn't like it-my neck was uncomfortable however, we have a Tempurpedic mattress and it's heavenly.

My husband and I both have one of these pillows. I use mine as a door stop. I have no idea what my husband did with his but it's not on the bed.

The mattress is okay. Pillows not so much.

Agree with the PPs. My DW and I have one of the beds. We also got pillows to go along with the bed when we first got it. We got rid of the pillows about 2 months after we got them.

We love the bed but hated the pillows. Our dog uses one of them to lay on during the day...the other one, who knows. Big waste of money.

Thanks. The salesman at one store told us that when the pillows are new that they have a horrible smell for awhile until they air out. If you have one, how long did it take for the smell to go away?

We have a couple that we got when we bought our spring mattress. I like it. It supports my neck nicely. I go back and forth every few nights between sleeping on it and sleeping on my down pillow. I like a lot of neck support, and I like how the Tempurpedic and the down kind of wedge up under my neck.

I don't like it enough for it to be worth $100, though, or whatever they cost. There's probably a knock-off you could find somewhere. We had them throw them in as part of the deal with the mattress we bought.

I think they sell them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Unless the coupons aren't good on them for some reason, you could save 20% with a coupon.

We have a Tempurpedic mattress and several pillows. The trick with the pillows is buying the right style. My favorites are my body pillow and travel size contour pillow. I'm a small person so the regular contour is too big and uncomfortable. I also have a u- shape travel pillow and I love it too.

I found it to be very hot. I like to sleep cool and didn't use it past a few days.

We do. I love mine. DH doesn't use his.
Also bought them after mattress shopping. Didn't like the Tempurpedic mattress, but I liked the support the pillow gave my neck since I'm a side sleeper.

We too were able to negotiate them being throw in when we bought our non-tempurpedic mattress.

We have tempurpedic pillows and we have used them since we bought our tempurpedic mattress. It took a day or two to adjust to them, to the point my partner wouldn't let me throw out our old pillows, but after a few days, we adjusted and really like the support they give (just like the mattress). Neither of us wake up with back, shoulder or neck pains, a big difference between our old mattress and down pillows. I must say though, there's nothing better then the cooling effect down has.

As other PPs have said the pillow was very uncomfortable. My sis gave me one and spent 100bucks on it. For that amount of money I was thinking my neck would be in heaven. Ha! Gave me a headache and made my neck worse. I eventually gave it to my Uncle. Not sure if he kept it or not lol. I ended up getting a Target pillow for 7bucks. Have had for several years and love it!

It took about a week of use & now I love my memory foam pillow. I have hip/IT band pain from a running injury & switching pillows helped with my rehab. If I go back to a reg pillow my hip hurts after the 2nd night. Tip: once it warms up it molds better.

It does take a few days to adjust. It was much quicker for me, than DH. I have fibromyalgia and Tempurpedic has changed my life. I have less pain, therefore I'm able to rest better. I have used other memory foam, but they did keep their form like Tempurpedic.

I've read, using a mattress pad will keep you from "getting hot". I do not have this problem, but know some do.

I love mine!! Got it with some BBB gift cards from our wedding. I didn't get the brand name one but it was a different one they had a the store. It is shaped like a regular pillow and I don't go anywhere without it now!

Sadly, I'm allergic to down so that isn't an option.

Do you have the regular style pillow or the contour?

I hated my Tempurprdic pillow and I can't believe dh spent that much money on it for me. I ended up getting a cheap memory foam pllow from Overstock that I liked much better. It was thicker so it supported my neck in a way that the Temp. pillow didn't. And it was only $15 :thumbsup2

Consumer Reports reviewed pillows last summer, and they rated the $30 Target memory foam as good as the Tempurpedic pillow. I can't remember the brand but you could google and perhaps find the report online. I think it was the May 2010 issue. I bought one of the Target pillows and like it okay. I'm not in love with it, but I use it more than my other pillows.

Good luck! It's very hard for me to find a pillow I really love.

When we bought our mattress we got two free pillows. We chose one regular shape and one contour. DH was using the contour and I wasn't using either because I felt like the foam "sealed" around my ear like when you hold your hand over your ear. Then I was getting so stiff in the neck I decided to try it again. I put a regular pillowcase and a fleece pillowcase on it to maybe give a little more ventilation to my ear. That doesn't bother me anymore and I have been getting along great with the contour pillow. Now DH wishes he could have it back.

Too bad we didn't get two contours, but we didn't know at the time what we would like.
