I'm just planning ahead for our trip and I want to do a Photobook when I get back. I though I could start getting some of the layouts ready as I want to prepare them in photoshop.

Does anyone do this and if so who do you use??

Sara, although it was expensive, I actually used the Disney Photopass service to make a photobook for Nat's Christmas pressie. It turned out really great, I was very pleased with it (and so was she). The advantage was that you could use the Disney backgrounds (I don't think there are any UK companies that offer that), the disadvantage (as I said) was that it was quite expensive but definitely well worth it.

I tried using Photobox the other day to make a photobook for DS's Birthday (from the kids) but I really struggled with it and gave up. I'm sure there must be easier sites to use but it really depends if yu want bells and whistles or just plain layouts.

P.S. Was gonna give you a shout to let you know we're coming up to Yarmouth on 21st August but I suspect you will have already left to go on your own trip by then? Maybe we will run into each other at WDW instead ;)

Another vote for photopass, can't beat the Disney backdrops to the pages. I was really pleased with my photobox one as well though.

Hi Joh!

Thanks for the advice. I was going to do the Disney one as well. I have used photobox before. I made a book for my Mum and Dad for their 60th Birthdays last year and I put all pictures of their friends with messages from them. I was pleased how it turned out at the time but I've since seen other peoples work and know that I could have made it better.

21st August is the actual day I leave. Thats a shame. My parents will be in the shop all that week. You should definately go in and say "hi".

Oh well, it's a shame we won't get to meet. I will definitely take Daniel in to the shop, though, if we get a chance.

Will have to check out your itinerary (if you post it before you leave) and see if we'll be in the same park on the same day or anything.

I didn't realise you were then heading off to WDW!! I already know what we are doing every day(!!) Nothing like forward planning!! So I will be able to let you know as soon as you know your plans. Be great to say "HI" xx

I've never actually used this one myself, but it came highly recommended in a computer mag I bought a few months ago

We have also done a photopass book and was reasonably pleased with it, although we did think the pictures looked darker once we got the book than they had done on the website as we were designing it - but I suppose that is a risk with any company.

I will definitely let you know what our plans are. So far, all we know is that we're staying at Boardwalk Villas from 31st August to 5th September. We arrive on 25th August, though, so once we know where we'll be the first few days, we can perhaps sort something out.

How much is the Disney Photobook service? As when i tried to look on their site it was down.

ETA: The website is now working thanks i have found the price :thumbsup2

Hiya -

for photo books over here, I use snapfish.co.uk - they are fantastic! we get loads of the soft back small ones (usually have a 2 for 1 offer on) especially for parents etc. They cost £9.99 for about 20 pages 7x5 - can get more than one pic on a page. They have loads of backgrounds and if you take loads of pictures of the Disney background ambience I personally don't think you need the disney backgrounds too - becomes a bit too "twee". I like to get the small ones since they are kept out "to look at" instead of being "special" and put away for safe keeping.

I use the Apple photobook service. It's really great and works well with iPhoto. :)
