We have been to one a couple of years ago and it was lots of fun. Sorta helps to get you through til the next trip. We recently met up with about 40 DISers who were participating in the WDW marathon. We all ate at Trails End at Ft. Wilderness. A DIS meet is a great equalizer. Everyone has at least one thing in common, their love of Disney.

Please reply if interested.

***********EDITED FOR UPDATE**************

DW and I have another thought about DIS meet. We were at a restaurant this past Tues night in Greensboro. It has a 100.5 rating, very nice facilities wih a back room area that could seat as many as 30 I would guess. I asked about the use of it, gave them the date and time and they seemed very accommodating. They are family owned and the dishes were suburb! You can tell that the cook tries his food and gets it right.

So with a possible location change, please respond and give your thoughts. My only downside to meeting in Concord is not knowing the restaurants layouts, how long we would have to wait, etc. This just gives us another possiblity. Here is their website with directions, menu and such. www.villarosaitalian.com We had Fettucine Alfredo, Baked Ziti and Ravioli and it was all very good, true Italian food.

Here's the plan so far. We will have a meet in the Concord area. A date and place will be forthcoming. So far there are two parties interested. The Concord area has a lot to offer as far as restaurants, meeting places.

So who else will be joining in? C'mon, cause a DIS meet can be lots of fun!

DW and I were at that same meet in north Raleigh a few years ago. Count us in for the Concord meet. Hopefully it will be scheduled for few weeks from now. We'll be at the BCV from Feb 5th through the 12th. Hope to see you soon.

I would be interested in meeting in the Concord area. PM me when you get details, and I'll see if I can make it!

Just throwing out a date to see what might work best. Sat. April 16. Leaning towards Saturdays because of driving plus less likely everyone will be working those days. I know its a ways off but it might give all interested time to see if schedule will allow it and if not we can try for another date. Want to be able to include everybody. Check schedules and let us know if this will work. Seems like all like the idea of Concord.

Sounds like we are moving forward and gaining interest.

Definitely put me on the PM list.

Hard to guage what our plans are for mid-April, but DW would like to go to Concord Mills for sure.

I'm from Albemarle and would be interested. Please keep me informed of plans or do I just check back here ?

Ben

Keep watching this thread for further info. BTW, we go to Albermarle to eat often. My folks have had a place at Badin Lake since '72 and we love eating at Jays Seafood. Very nice, down to earth folks in your town. Reminds me of the way Burlington used to be.

My FIL grew up in Badin. My wife's aunt is a long time resident of Albemarle. DW has to go to Wispering Pines BBQ each time we visit.

We're from Concord, so we would love to attend.

As far as the OG goes, that place is packed all the time. We had to wait last week at 2 pm on a weekday. There are alot of restaurants at Concord Mills. OG is the one that has the longest line. I'm not trying to rain on the parade, just offering an observation.

Is there a time OG is not packed? Man, that place is yummy!
I couldn't think of any of the other names of places there, got any more suggestions? I can't remember if Chili's is big enough inside to accomadate a group.

Thanks for the heads up about OG. We definitely want to go where we can get in. That is a top priority. If you have any suggestions, we would be glad for you to help us out. 4disneyfansinnc has given great input on this. Antything in that area would be fine, as long as they can accomodate us. We are looking forward to this. DIS meets are always fun. Making DIS friends is fun.

I'm not sure about that April 16th date. My cousin's baby will be turning 1 right around then, and I don't know yet when she is planning to have her birthday party. If I'm free, though, I'll definitely try to make it! :flower:

We may be interested too. DH has a church retreat that weekend but DD and I may attend.
