I always feel strange taking pictures with the characters. Not that it has ever stopped me but I feel uncomfortable. It is kind of wierd because the place is basically about taking pictures and riding rides.
Take care

No way. I love interacting with the characters and taking pictures with them. They are the best part of the whole trip! :cool1: no matter how old I get I will get excitied when I see one of the characters! :thumbsup2

Sometimes I am. I think it's just because I'm really shy, but I still LOVE taking pics with them. The only thing is that I don't have the courage to speak to them lol.
One time I was really uncomfortable was in MGM one year when the Genie ran away from me and hid behind a tree! I just stood there and didn't know what to do!

I get uncomfortable with the face characters-don't know why, its almost as though they were real people!

I really enjoy the characters at WDW, but I'm usually only uncomfortable when they want a hug. I'm the type of person who is usually uncomfortable hugging people other than my closest friends or family anyway, so when a character (especially a fur character) wants a hug, I'm really uncomfortable. Add that into the last time I was at WDW, Stitch wouldn't let me leave until he got a hug and while I tried to hug him, I almost knocked his head off. I'm usually not nervous around the face characters at all since seldom want hugs.

Just once.... Goofy at O'hana's was a little ummm "friendly" with me while DH snapped the picture. I was a little stunned but just played it off to his oversized paws ;)

DH later teased my by saying..."See honey it is the happiest place on earth, even for Goofy!"

I love the characters.....and the pictures are fun. It's funny how you feel like a kid again when you see Mickey.

I love the characters. In the parks, it helps that I have the kids with me when doing pictures (other adults don't look at me quite so funny). But if the kids aren't interested, I will do a picture on my own. On our cruise last year, I stood in line for about 30 minutes to beat all the little kids to get my picture made with Mickey in his cap and gown. Why? Because the cruise was partly to celebrate my having just finished my MBA. When I told this to Mickey, he gave me a huge thumbs up :thumbsup2 and a pat on the back. I bought the 8x10 and I have it in my office. It means more to me than the diploma! :goodvibes

I do sometime i usually hug every character but sometimes i just get freaked out and back out and send my little bro in :rotfl: ever since buzz tickled me (it freaked me, me not like getting tickled)someone has to force me to take pics with him *shrugs* your not alone
also the fact that i know someone is in there freaks me out lol

My wife and myself love getting our pictures taken with the characters. We keep track of how many different ones we have pictures with. Part of the fun of Disney is having your pictures taken with the characters.

The costume Characters are no problem... but the face characters, now whoa that a whole other ball game.

My only hesitation is with some of the villains. I actually get nervous in line, trying to think of something cool to say!! Cruella and the Snow Queen and Malificent can be quite scary to meet! :scared:

Fur characters are the easiest to meet, in my opinion! For me, hugs are never a problem, though one time I gave Gideon a hug, and it was a tad icky since I could tell his costume badly needed a cleaning (I guess he spent too many a night a Pleasure Island!). :)

Each trip I am nervous for the first few character meetings. I feel like people will think I am silly for wanting my picture with the characters, but then I remember I paid to be there too and I should relax and have fun. Before I knew it I was hugging them and clowning around. Makes for great pictures and memories. :teeth:

well to be honest the characters don't really want to give you a hug either. it's just part of the job.

if you could only see the faces they are making at you.

I have always wondered the faces the people behind the masks must make when they are just bored or ticked off at people! :rotfl2:
