But be warned: these things are very addicting. I tried the first puzzle I'd seen on Saturday from the newspaper. Restarted that silly thing 6 times. Took me hours (ok, so I ought to get a life...). Now I can do the "1 star" puzzles in under 10 mins!

I just tried one of these yesterday...an easy one...and it was fun! I'm gearing up for today's 2 star puzzle in a bit. Our paper just started carrying them.

ElizK, I live in Fort Worth too, and I have been doing those puzzles for a couple of weeks, since the paper started carrying them. I am like a crazed person on those harder puzzles. The last five star puzzle I had to copy on our copier because I had erased so many times it was putting a whole in the newspaper!

They are very addicting!

Yes, I've just discovered these in "In Touch" Magazine of all places! :rotfl: I've been using this site . But, I'm going to check out the USA Today site. On the site that I'm using now, I can do the easy ones in about 5 minutes, the medium in about 30 and the hard in about 30-40. I think I've only completed 2 hard puzzles. It takes so long that I sort of lose interest. But, it definitely is an addicting game.

Gee, thanks. I'm totally addicted to these things now. :p I've done 3 1-star and one 2-star so far and am about to start on my second 2-star.

I love these puzzles. My 15 DD and I do them together and she gets it so much quicker than I do. Very Addicting!

I love these puzzles. Dell has had them in the puzzle mags for a few years.

I was just doing the USA Today, the one with 2 stars in the first link from the OP and I think theres an error. This is the first one I've done so I am not sure if I am misunderstanding the directions or not.

Could someone PM me so I can discuss the solultion listed without giving the answer away.

:teeth: So's my mom, and MT2 (from here on the Dis), and my 10yr daughter, and my 10yr old neighbor boy. :rotfl: I figure I shouldn't be the only one spending so much time on these things. And think of it as anti-Alzheimer's therapy. There. I can rationalize anything!!

I'd be happy to discuss with you, but I'll have to go back and do it again. Not a problem, though!! Love these silly things.

If you're working the puzzle online, you'll get a green dot at the end of each row and each column, and on each 3x3 square if you have the numbers 1-9 in them. The dot won't turn green if you've got 2 of the same number on that row/column/3x3 square. If you've made a mistake just start over. no telling how many mistakes based on the original mistake have been made.

Yes! DS 10 and I found these in the free paper Holiday Inn gave every morning on our vacation. We spent a very pleasant half hour every evening doing these together.

I figured it out. I misread the directions. I made the puzzle harder. I thought I couldn't put a number in the same spot in the 3x3 grid in another 3x3 grid.

The puzzle was finished rather easily after I that mistake was resolved!
