I just got Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach Oceanfront on Priceline for $40. (Total with fees... 50.59. )I think I did good but I'm not sure. Any input please.
Is this hotel nice- is it convenient (we will have a rental car)

Thanks- it mentions that the rooms may be dirty- tripadvisor mentions that they are entrenched in a remodel right now and the recent reviews on that site are positve. Anybody know the best web site for hotel reviews- I have heard tripadvisor really is not a good source.

We stayed there one year because the little place we stayed before was booked. We thought it was filthy - but this was back in 2001, so maybe it's changed.

ON TRIP ADVISOR IT GOT TERRIBLE REVIEWS BEFORE 2003, THEN IT GOT GOOD REVIEWS. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO STAYED THERE RECENTLY- WE ARE PROBABLY JUST GOING TO USE IT AS A PLACE TO CRASH SO I AM NOT TOO STRESSED ABOUT IT EITHER WAY. FOR $40 HOW BAD COULD IT BE (I MAY BE SORRY ASKED THAT)

We stayed there in Nov 03 - got a $49 rate through the Holiday Inn website. We arrived pretty late (midnight) so I think we got upgraded as we had a lovely 1-bedroom suite and it was very clean. We didn't have much time in the morning to scout out the grounds as we were in a hurry to get to the port!:teeth:

I got two rooms in November of 03 for my parents and my brother's family to facilitate their visit to the space center after our family cruise. They thought the place was disgusting. The first set of rooms they were given, the front door was broken and both were overwhelmingly musty and mildewed. The next rooms were still smelly and less than clean, and in one the bathroom toilet kept malfunctioning. In hindsight, my Dad wished they had just walked away on the pre-paid and found something else.

The hotel was not busy and they definitely felt that they were being shown only the less desirable rooms because they were priceline. I forwarded a complaint to priceline but never had a response.

My best advice, if the room is not acceptable, complain and if the substitute is not acceptable, complain and keep it up until you get a clean, functioning room.

place is clean and safe and has a nice kids pool area if you have time with pirates theme and slide great access to take a walk on the beach at night. Just make sure you get a remodled room.... it is old and on the beach and anything old on the beach is moldy, smelly rusty and buggy...

Thanks everybody. I think it is supposed to be completely renovated by the end of the year so I am optimistic.
