I am wondering if anyone is able to use Best Western Price-match policy successfully?
I recently tried that and not to my surprice, they will use any excuse
to reject a claim. Here is the story:
First, I found that "hotelclub.net" has a good price for a BW hotel.
So, I make a booking for a non-smoking room for 4 person at BW website.
Then, submit claim for price-match and got rejected because:
- we booked a non-smoking room while "hotelclub.net" doesn't guarantee
a non-smoking room.
I don't recall any major travel agent online (e.g. expedia, travelocity etc) will
specify the room being booked is smoking or non-smoking.
In fact, hotelclub.net doesn't guarantee a smoking room either. By the way,
the price for smoking & non-smoking room are the same.
OK. We rebooked a smoking smoke (2 double beds) for 4 person at BW site
again and submit another price-match to see if they would reject. And yes,
they rejected again. This time they said the room type is difference. We
booked a 2 double beds room and hotelclub.net doesn't specify the bedding type.
From hotelclub.net, for a room of 4 person, the bedding configuration can be either:
Now, the issue is that the BW hotel we booked has ONLY 2 Double Beds room
for 4 person which matches to the hotelclub.net specification.
I don't believe how they would try to use any excuse to reject a claim.
I first believe the intention of their price-match policy is to attract customer
and ensure customers are happy & satisfy.
After this experience, I think the policy is used to drive away business.
Anyway, I cancelled all booking at BW and go with Holiday Inn.
Thanks for all your attention.
