Planning my first trip since 1997 and first on-site ever! During our rest day, I have a reservation for Emeril's. Any reviews? Is it worth the $$$?

both emeril's and tchoup chop's are worth the money. they're both our favorites for special dinners in orlando. make your reservations early. and you have to call the restaurant the day of your reservation to confirm it, or you lose it. lunch is less expensive than dinner.

Love Emerils! Always had awesome experiences at the Orlando location. Had a not so good experience at the Vegas location. But well worth the money!

Delicious! I've been to his Vegas one twice and had some of the best food. Went to Orlando's once and it was just as good...just wish we had a better table though. They kind of put us in the back corner where my DH kept getting bumped. Othewise an delicious experience. The chocolate souffle was SOOO GOOOD!

Thanks for this tip. We reserved through Opentable and I don't remember it saying anything about confirming. Would've been upset to get there and have no reservation! Especially after you all had such great things to say. Any particular menu items you liked?

Bring your appetite - try the shrimp appetizer and the gumbo - you might want to share these, as there's a lot of food yet to come.

Listen to the daily specials, as they're almost always something you've never heard of...

On the regular menu, the Pork Chop dinner is remarkable.

And, if nothing else, save room for the banana cream pie.

My best friend and I are going for a girls 4 day trip and we're planning on dining at Emeril's our last evening. I also booked through opentable and didn't read anything about confirming. Does anyone have an idea what the cost roughly is per person? I don't recall seeing any prices on the menu on the website. I guess it doesn't matter since DH won't be with me and he's the big eater!

I was at City Walk due to business at Hard Rock Live and decided to give it a try. They were able to accomodate me as a walk-up when they first opened at the bar only--the place is extremely popular and for good reason. The meal was incredible! Dinner for one with entree, dessert, and a glass of house wine was about $50 with tax and tip. About that house wine, normally I run like heck from "house wines". This one was very, very good, a chardonay created by Mondavi for Emeril.

The Orlando press has given Tchoup chop's marginal reviews...in fact the Sentinel outright panned it when it first opened. (disclaimer--I am a member of the press, but do not review restaurants--although I'll be happy to tell you your band sucks, LOL!)

Ok.. I know this is only one more opinion; but I must totally disagree with DuckLite!
We were at Emeril's this past Christmas and found the food and the service to be lacking. In fact we both lamented afterwards that we had not gone back to Tchoup Chop where the food has always been outstanding! It is one thing to spend the money for an enjoyable experience... but to be disappointed is adding insult to injury.

It took us 30 minutes to decide on something from the menu, even though I was planning on doing the degustation (multi-course) dinner, complete with wine pairings. This was because we couldn't find anything that SOUNDED appetizing. We ended up settling on a strip steak that was overcooked and hard to cut. The side dishes were forgettable and we did not stay to linger over dessert, because the service was so awful we just wanted OUT!

We also made our reservation through OpenTable and they did mention on the website that you have to call to confirm by 3 PM on the day of your dinner reservation.

Have not gone to Emeril's but LOVED Tchoup Chop! The only thing I was sad about is that we missed meeting Emeril by ONE NIGHT! He was there serving and cooking and EVERYONE just drooled about how wonderful he was! Darn!

I would love to be there when he was at the restaurant. I was wondering if there is a way to know when he will be there. Does he just show up randomly or on a schedule? Anyone know the secret?

Anyone else ever get to see him at the restaurant? OOooohhh maybe some stories???

I have Reservations for Easter Sunday. Has anyone eaten at Tchoup Chop on Easter? Does the menu change? I wanna know too how to catch Emeril there in the restaurant. Would be so cool to meet him!

the only time I've seen him at Universal is when he's come in to tape shows at Citywalk. that was pretty cool.
