Seriously?? I mean this film looks SO rubbish!! Why does he do this sort of thing?! :confused3 It isn't funny, and in fact he's trying to be funny for the complitly wrong reasons. Granted it did educate people where Kazikstan is (No idea how to spell it let alone where it is.. ) it is just trying to poke at other people for no reason..

Borat? If you ask me BORING!!

totally agree matt...not my type of comedy but then i love catherine tate :rotfl2:

No I won't be going to see it, I am not a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen. I couldn't see what Ali G was all about and I feel the same about Borat. It isn't proper comedy - it's just laughing at people by taking the mickey out of them

I just don't get it :confused3

Well I believe he's supposed to be making fun of stereotypes by his own ignorance. It's the same concept as "All in the Family." It's very crude, but it SUPPOSED to be to show how ridiculous ignorance is.
I've seen the movie and it was OK. I thought it could have been funnier. There are also a few "shocker" moments that some would find innapropriate, but that kind of stuff just reminds me of *******, which I also find amusing.
Different strokes for different folks.

Huh?

Sacha Baron Cohen is a great comic and all round "mickey" (need another word there) taker. I'd rather watch an SBC programme than 5 seconds of something truly boring like BBC Sci-Fi series or Japaneese kids games. But hey, I was brought up on Python, Q, The Young Ones, Bottom and lately *******, Ali G and South Park. Quality stuff :teeth:

You won't be saying that when I send this to get you..

How perfect, a Pokemon that controls time... :teeth:

Anyway, back on topic. I dislike his programes BECAUSE they take the mickey. Yeah, there are other programes that do it as well, but normally they don't have a whole thing based on that one mickey take; normally they make fun of everything and anything.

I don't really like Python, but I haven't seen it so my opinion is invalid there; I have no clue what Q is; I think ******* is funny in places but otherwise just EW!; you know my opinion on Ali G; South park does take it too far and I liked Bottom and the Young ones as they just about got the balance of grossness right.

I think Family Guy is cool though. :) It's so unique and funny! :lmao:

My DD saw this earlier this week and said it was the biggest pile of rubbish she'd seen. She said she smiled twice and one of those times was at her friend to say hello!

Eh, Ok I am the only one who posted here from America. Can someone inform me what "mickey" means? :confused3

Also another note on the movie, it really makes Americans looks like great A-Holes! But like I said, it could have been funnier, it was just ok-ish. Also, I've never seen the Ali G show so have no idea what it's like in comparrison (Just keep thinking of the guy who dresses as him from The Office, ok that was FUNNY!) :rotfl:

Taking the mickey (or sometimes you will hear people say taking the Michael) means to poke fun at someone, usually not in a nice way.

"Taking the Mick" is derived from the word Mictate - meaning to urinate. Hence the other version "Taking the P**s".

Now, I bet most of you never knew that. Hopefully, it also settles the minds of our friends over in the Emerald Isle.

Had to laugh at that!!

Family Guy is fantastic. South Park are in trouble at the moment for their Steve Irwin portrayal. What little time I had for them has ended!

I used to love da ali g show but always hated borat.
Saying this i did not like it when he made the ali g film so i definately would not see a borat film.
