I was just wondering what the park looked like today as far as crowds and the weather????? Anyone enjoying Christmas morning in Disneyland? :santa:

Well, I am not in the parks today, but I can tell you that it is raining again. As for crowds, I am curious about actual Christmas Day crowds too. This year, we went to DLR on the weekend right before Christmas, which was also the weekend we went last year too, so I could make a direct comparison of the crowds. I had read reports on here that the crowds were really bad, and then others said they were kind of light compared to usual Decembers. (I think it all boils down to people's interpretations and personal opinions.) When we got there on Friday night and wandered around DTD, we instantly noticed that - in our opinions - the crowds were no worse than the DTD crowds of October (the off-peak season). When we went into the park on Saturday, we used our MM option, so things were pretty empty then, but even as the morning progressed, it took a while for crowds to set in. I don't know - it just never seemed that bad to us. It was no worse than the massive crowds of October, and it was no worse than last year on the same weekend. I thought it was about the same. My two friends even said they thought the crowds seemed lighter than they have seen recently, but I wasn't 100% sold on that. The Goofy's Kitchen crowds were a little lighter than they usually are - the buffet area was not as packed - but not by too much. And the only areas in the parks where thing got congested and where it seemed like there were mobs of people were when people were waiting for something like snow or the parade, but that comes with the territory. Adventureland seemed less packed with people than usual, which was nice.

I really didn't see anything as being crazy or worse than other Decembers, and perhaps even a little better in spots. As for actual Christmas Day crowds, I will be interested to hear the report on that, but they cannot be TOO awful since it's raining and that keeps folks away!!

We are blocked out until January 1st.....
I have always wanted to be at Disneyland for Christmas but afraid of the crowds.......

We're here & Christmas morning was nothing short of magical in the park.:cloud9: The very early start of the day was not crowded at all. (We had 7am early admit, but didn't get moving until 7:30ish.) It was also pouring buckets & really miserable weather though.

Christmas Eve was spectacular!!!:lovestruc Main St. hub was filled with character galore & a lot of them were dressed in Christmas Eve PJs! I had wanted to meet with Donald & Daisy this whole trip & they were there in front of the Main Street Cinema. Just as I was going to get a picture with them, they had to go. :sad1: I did get to meet Cinderella though.princess:

We're taking a mid-day break right now, but heading back over shortly. The crowds don't seem bad, IMHO. However, I've never been here at Christmas previously. It's truly wonderful & everyone should experience it.

I'll be there tomorrow, and I'm hoping it won't be too bad. I went Dec 26th last year as well, and while it was crowded, it was still doable. I'm hoping the rainy weather will drive people away this weekend. :)

OMGosh, that sounds awesome! Sounds like a wonderful time there. :)

We were there today and have been for the last 5 days. I will say that as a WDW veteran of the Peak Seasons the parks this AM were much more crowded than any of the previous days. Obviously Christmas Day and all through the weekend and next week will be crowded, but today had more people around. Wait times were ranging from 15 - 40 minutes which by WDW standards is excellent. But on Christmas Eve in the early evening wait times were 2 - 5 minutes on most rides. It was crazy!

This was our first trip to DL after 17 to WDW and we love the place. DCA not so much, but I am sure we will once they update things over the next few years.

I'd say that today had it's ups & downs, but I loved it none the less.
It was nice in the morning, just drizzley and chilly. I was happy that even though it looked crowded, the lines for the rides were short.
Then it started to rain, but it eventually died down w/in 10 min. It started to get crowded later in the afternoon when the weather started to clear up; I was so happy that I even saw the sun! Later it started to rain again, so I avoided it by shopping, but it didn't scare the guests away. Even though it became crowded, I'd say that the crowds were still decent. Just a 50 min. wait for Indy & 25 (from what I saw last) for SM.

For me, I "avoided" the crowds w/ my fam by making the most of my Christmas by doing all of the holiday things. I went to HMH, IASMH, visited Reindeer Round-up (the entertainment side was closed bc of the rain, but the reindeer were there), and saw the CFP. I had to leave early to see the rest of my family, but I'll be there tomorrow to finish everything else! Even w/ the crowds, everything was still magical!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!! :santa:

I am so jealous of everyone who spent Christmas there!!!! After presents, we spent the morning wishing we were there while watching the parade on TV. To make matters worse my brother, his wife and my niece and nephew are there right now, and it is not making the DLR urges easier to deal with. I am sure they are having a blast.....

uugghhh..... only 9 more months to go. :surfweb:

Arrrgggg! I came down with a cold Dec 23rd. By the 24th it was a full blown sinus infection. I stayed in bed all day on the 24th and 25th.:scared: And I completely forgot to watch the Parade!:scared1:  :sad2:  :crazy2: :faint: :( Bummer! Thanks for reminding me that I forgot to watch the show. :wave2:

Yesterday was sooo crowded. I think it's the most crowded I've seen the park, compared to the 26th last year, and the 25th three years ago. We went to get fastpasses for Space Mountain at about 11am, and they were good for 3:30. By the time we rode the ride, there were no more fastpasses available. And when we tried to get fastpasses for Indiana Jones at about 7, they were out. But luckily, we went on Jungle Cruise instead, with absolutely no wait, and the best guide I've ever had. We managed to get on every ride I wanted except Buzz Lightyear and Snow White, and we caught the later parade and Fantasmic. We found an excellent spot for the fireworks, too, but they stopped the show midway through because of weather.

I had my lime green Mickey on my bag, but unfortunately didn't see any others, or get approached by anyone. However, I did get a couple complements on my ears. I never realized they were unusual or anything, but I got them at DCA not long after the park opened. They're pink and fuzzy, and have come with me to the park every time since I got them.

Overall, though, it was a fun time despite the crowds, and we planned out our rides very well, I think. And Sleeping Beauty's castle and Innoventions (with a home of the future) were both open, and it's been a long time since I've seen either of those, so that was really great!

I was really curious about this. I'm glad I read this post!! I may be a big wuss but after only doing summers & then doing January...umm, I'm hooked. I LIKE waiting not-at-all. :lovestruc Nemo was our longest at 20 min. Totally doable.

The magic fades for me in crowds.
