not sure if I can actually bring myself to wear one again - all feels a bit "80s"!!!!! rotfl2: but wondered what you'll all be taking in the way of hand luggage when you're in the parks? Just want something to fit a camera, sunglasses, suncream and asthma pump! On some forums it said that they've restricted the size of "fannybags"! and if they're too big you have to stick them in one of the lockers.

Opinions please ... :earboy2:

I usually just take a light weight rucksack (small) its enough to put my purse, cigs, sunglasses and camera in, or if you're taking more in such as a jumper or fleece I'd hire a locker then you don't have to worry about carting the stuff around all day

hi
found a wonderful invention made by regatta, a rucksack that folds down into a bum bag. we have found it invaluable. only 5 days until we get to use it again! :cool1:  :cheer2:

We always use bumbags. And from what I saw in July, so do thousands of other people. Don't worry, you won't look out of place! :)

I agree, the thought of wearing a bumbag filled me with dread too! However, in January, I used a plain black one for our trip and it was perfect for carrying tickets, camera, wipes etc. and i didn't feel out of place at all. Its the perfect size for just the stuff you need and easier to find it all. Go for it, everybody else will be wearing one anyway, like the previous poster said.

Right I'm going to stop being a snob and go for it!! Thanks guys

ha ha! Have you seen that episode of the office where keith is explaining to Dawn why they are called Fanny Packs in the US and not bum bags?

Sorry, it just reminded me.

not as childish as me!!! I couldn't bring myself to type fannybag cause I was laughing too much - I'm 32 for gods sake!

I love my Tigger bumbag aka fannypack for when at the parks. It is so useful holds all I need, isn't heavy or bulky and I can go on most rides with it safely knowing it won't get lost/dropped!!!!
Claire ;)

I shall be using a Bum Bag as i can fit tickets camera etc in it and i don't have to carry a big rucksack around all day.

They sell Micket ones (mines blue :) ) and it's got a waterproof bit for those wet rides!!

My DH would not be caught dead wearing a bumbag in this country ;) but he always wears one in WDW for the reasons mentioned above.

Many people wear them, '80s or not :teeth:

I could never fit everything we need into a bum bag - its definately a ruck sack for us. Camera / Tickets / Wallet / 4 poncho's / Sweat shirt for DD (she feels the cold in those air conditioned places) / Bottle of water ........... the list goes on and on!!!

Couldn't manage without one! DH always laughs when I pack it but by the end of the holiday everyone believes I'm Mary Poppins! :rotfl: Everything but the kitchen sink goes in there and it's never let me down.

yes, Its bum bags for us...would never wear them in the uk, but hey, we are on holiday and nobody knows us haha! They came in really handy for holding fans, sunglasses sun cream etc and we just looped our ponchos through them.....perfect! When we got home hubby was missing a place to store all his stuff!

Isn't that one of the many unofficial roles of his wife's handbag. I have a small allocation of space there, providing I return the favour with pocket space when she doesn't want to take a handbag.

I'll be wearing a bum bag ad WDW!

:) Chris.

We go on 1/10 so I'd better get my skates on and try and buy one from somewhere. Looks like another trip to Bluewater looming this weekend - shame .....
